We've established that he's a pretty good scout. Whether he has any idea what to do with the players he finds is another matter. Just because he's good at one aspect of management it doesn't make him good at any others.

And how angry you are he won.

Roll on Sunday and Sandwell away.

Your half right  (for once).

I'm delighted we won. I'm angry we still have to put up with this useless  manager.

Is the correct answer....papered over the cracks.

Hope Westley is right and the excuses made for Lamberts ineptness are proved correct because if we get to March and have to sack him the real damage will have been done....now was the time to act, get him gone, get a new coach who actually does want to pass the ball, doesn't just pick his favourites week on week irrespective of form (Westwood / Gabby / Weimman etc) and recognises that having a wide option in the squad is not against the rules.

The last couple of games have been a quandary, this club needs invigorating, it isn't going to be sold so the only way to do this is improve the fayre on the field....I'm in the camp that he cannot and will not do that, he'll grind out the odd result like last night but he does not have the capacity to change the mentality so it will roll along dull, frantic, pointless and boring...hence wanting him gone!  I make no apology for that, he has had 2.5 years and we haven't improved, time to let someone else have a go!

Kinell, WestleyArmsAV, your pofaced contributions have harshed my mellow even more than my having spent the morning imprisoned in Lewisham. Thought the only reason for a Villa fan having a massive grump on today would be the increase in the manager's life expectancy. Clearly not.

Great result last night.  But we would have been punished against better opposition.  Back four wasn't protected enough. Midfield is still too spread out.  Sanchez should be sitting much deeper.  Cleverley should be the link between attack, and we're in desperate need of another midfielder, and Weimann should be dropped.

Again, our ball retention was poor.  We desperately missed the experience of Cole.

But great result, on to next Sunday and the Tesco boys.  UTV.

Hang on we've got Leicester before the Tesco boys. That's a pretty important game.

Westley to put this as simply as possible the biggest influence on us winning last night was that Zaha and Bolasie wasted almost every opportunity they had to get the ball in the box.  An acceptable premier league standard performance from either of them and we don't win that game.  I'm very happy we got the 3 points, they were desperately needed but lets not try to make out that we won due to some magic formula Lambert worked out, we punished a mistake ruthlessly with a moment of individual brilliance and then relied on Palace being shit up front.

Our defence held strong but even with a good performance from them Palace missed a sitter (the one that went straight across the 6yard box and got missed by 3 attackers) and wasted lots more chances than I'm comfortable with.

When we beat a team by playing well and dominating the game then you can come on and play this game but the 'I was right you're all shit' card really isn't suitable after a performance like that.  Yes it's a win and yes we're now unbeaten in 4 but it's still far from good enough.

Westley, good to have you back. I don't recall you posting after Burnley, but I may have missed it. I'm glad that your ambitions don't stretch any further than a lucky win against Crystal Palace.

Sorry mike, I was on the coach back from burnley, the wifi can be a nightmare.

The irony of me being labelled a nose when you state a lucky win at palace.

Well done Paul. Utv

If Palace had Benteke last night they'd have won - or if Bolasie and Zaha just staye calm at times.

You sound almost disappointed that they didn't.

You must have come back via Glasgow if you haven't been able to post about Burnley until now.
