I have wondered that Shili, as we expressed ourselves a lot more in the first half. Heck, even in he second we still used the ball a lot better than we have done; maybe a bit of a fear factor has gone with Keane leaving?

The players definitely seemed a bit happier yesterday without Roy Keane around.

Well they didn't show it on the pitch.

We played some very good stuff in the first half. Overall it wasn't good enough but the effort was there even if the quality always wasn't.
I don't think that effort has been in question this season.
The problem has been and, is quality and tactics.

We did, but as I said earlier we still couldn't beat them and they are easily the worst team in the league.
Let's face it we're an awful team.

The team is not awful, they should be doing better than they are and that's down to 1 man.

I hope you're right but the cynic in me suggests it was more to do with the standard of the opposition.

That could be the case too, but the standard of opposition doesn't really improve with Palace, Leicester, Albion and Sunderland as four of our next six games.

Plus let's not forget how badly we do against lower league opposition, which is what Burnley will be next season.

I've noticed this stock answer on here lately that the team is better than the performances. I think a new manager would get slightly better performances out of the players but let's not pretend they're uncut diamonds. I think most of them are out of their depth and are no better than Championship material. I've been saying this since day one. The cutbacks inflicted on us by Lerner over the last 5 seasons is the cause of all our woes and sadly this is the way it's going to be till we're sold.

I don't think anybody from the Burnley team apart from Ings would have replaced any of our starting XI yesterday, and that's with half of our first choice side unavailable. Maybe Trippier.

And yes, it's only Burnley, no the current lot shouldn't be challenging at the top of the league but we should be a lot better than we're showing at the moment.

I think a team with Benteke, Delph, Vlaar and Guzan in the spine is capable of easily reaching the safety of mid-table with some ease. Look at where we are in the league, still 16th despite scoring only 7 and not having won in ten games. That is how poor the standard of this league is.

A bit more brainpower and knowhow against Spurs, Southampton and Burnley to see a game out and we are 7th or something daft. These players are much better than Championship at best and should be offering a lot more in entertainment and results. The manager is the only reason we are not.

Yeah I take some of what I said back. The style of football we play is quite horrendous and I'm positive a different manager would change from the awful "backward pass to Guzan and hoof up the field" tactic that Lambert relies on for 99% of the time.

It's horrendous. The number of times we're passing it around perfectly nicely, only for it to go back to Guzan and he just wellies it back to their centre-halves.

If that's where we want the ball to be, why don't Clark or Okore just smash it up there in the first place rather than giving it to Guzan to do?

The pro-Lambert support always reminds me of the people who come out of the woodwork on Twitter when there is a jumper or someone who has brought a train line to a halt.....and a city centre grinds to a standstill for 3 or 4 days.....

"Oh...the poor man...he's misunderstood.....let's give him more hugs......"
That is some offensive bullshit.

Re the media not giving him a hard enough time yet, it's worth watching the pre-Burnley presser on Sky Sports website where a reporter really makes him squirm with constant questioning of what exactly is wrong at the club?

Well they didn't show it on the pitch. They were playing easily the worst team in the league yet they still couldn't win.

But here I disagree. there is a team there, but for some reason lambert is clearly showing he hasn't got the nous to tweek it ans get them firing. We've shown in dribs and drabs we are okay. But then we take on this fear mentality and are scared of losing. We then haven't a clue what tto do with the ball and the players look lost. That's coaching, We're being failed by the back-room staff of which Lambert is the lead. he has to go.

Well lets see where we are this time next week .

If were in the bottom three then, he has to go .

Villa have to be on 17 points minimum
