Any manager will succeed or fail due to ,in part, the efforts of others. However I could hazard a guess if  the points total being achieved was falling below required standard then perhaps , and to the relief of some fans , its recognised that changes in management would be made. I would guess that expectation differs between some supporters and those involved directly with the club. Provided villas points average remain at a certain and respectable level and milestones or targets reached then the performances , which ideally should reflect results , aren't top priority. Lambert knows what's expected, keeping the points average,  and based on say the next 4 to 5 matches and then 10 incorporated there really isn't an argument on what's expected as its clear what level is needed. At thus time it can be immensely frustrating on expected team performance progress that's not being made priority with  the determined focus on achieving a suitable league position. The hope is of course performance will be progressive linked to the points being achieved by winning matches.

All I understood was winning matches

If only

Just see the above poll, 76.4% of fans want him sacked now.

It was 83% before the qpr game

Some people obviously think were turned the corner

Yes, implying some people on here are armchair fans really warrants being called "special needs".

Shocking.

By one person, who apologised. Implying people are armchair fans would warrant being called, for example, arrogant. Also, blind faith is not the same as support.

Making sweeping generalisations about posters is probably the one thing that's going to get a lot of peoples backs up, I know it does me.

If the club knows full well that there will always be enough core support to guarantee crowds of at least 25,000 and the money they get from the Premier League dwarves any loss of gate income from fans who drift away in any case, there would be little or no incentive to alter things. Why pay compensation out for Lambert, when the status quo is working effectively for a club that is up for sale?
I am sure that, like any football fan, those that run our club can see full well that we are not performing on the field and the fans are getting restless, but right now the cost of removing Lambert simply outweigh the benefits of maintaining a status quo; albeit an incredibly frustrating status quo for us fans.

I still can't work out that 4 year contract.  Possibly an even more perplexing decision than McLeish.

Then again it saved them having to think about what to do next summer (assuming he can keep us at the heady heights of 17th to 15th.

I don't like the idea of a protest but if things carry on as they have been i would fully support and join in some form of anti lambert match day protests at games. How long are the fans expected to keep shtum ?
