I am not keen on posters with differing opinions being described as trolls.

It will be bordering December and we have just five league goals . 5.
That is beyond relegation form. If there is such a thing.

We haven't scored in front of the Holte yet. When was the last time we started a season so and went so long without scoring at the Holte?
Never. It's another lambert record breaker.

Has anybody else noticed that footyskillz posts seem to be being edited at source?  Some of them are full of spelling, grammatical and syntactical errors but other posts like the long hymn of praise to Lambert above are seamless, mistake free pro club propaganda.

His/her initial posts were typical troll stuff but the appearance of footyskillz and westley at this time with insufferable defence of the indefensible makes me wonder if they are wind-up merchants making mischief or something new and more sinister.  Like the bookies employ and fund rampers to influence betting patterns.
l am afraid I do not agree that "the vast majority of the fans" want to get behind the team. The vast majority of the fans want one thing. They want Lambert replaced, four year contract or no four year contract.
100% agree Brian, I wouldn't trust a word either of them say.

Well I have been accused of being a nose and special needs for  having the audacity to support Lambert. it's not surprising.

You've also accused people of being 'laptop warriors' so you can't be surprised if people have a pop back.

I dont think anyone on here purposely types things like that with the intent of genuinely offending another person, let alone another Villa fan, who, ultimately wants the same as the rest - for the Villa to be successful, play good football, entertain the fans and win the FA f**king cup.

The problem you will have on boards like this Westley is that people are fed up and generally angry that something we are all used to getting so much pleasure from is giving us none at all. People are frankly p**sed off with the whole thing.

As every one of these bad games/ bad spells and bad records being broken falls, more and more fans that were willing to give him a chance lose patience and want him out. He may not be the route of the problem but he is certainly the only variable that we can change to end this downward spiral. Your opinion can never be wrong, because its your opinion but I imagine you are in a minority of 5-10% who still have the opinion he is the man for the job. Its frustrating that there are some who cant see what the majority of people can now see.

Honest question, what will it take for your opinion to change do you think? 1 point from the next 4 games? bottom 3 at Christmas? gtting hit for 5 or 6 by one of the big boys or going out of the FA cup to lower league opposition? even losing at Burnley?

And even if it's not meant, you do very much give off the whiff of 'i'm a better fan than you' attitude. Again, possibly not on purpose, but has been pointed out before.

There seems to be a disparaging opinion of the current manager and custodian yet lest we forget they are doing things to keep a stable club steady within the premier league.

This comment fascinates me, as it sadly speaks volumes for how those running our club probably see us. The entire ethos at the club right now, seems to be based on just doing enough to keep us up. This season is no different, as unless Lambert truly messes it up, we will survive once more and it’s a good job done again.
During my more bored moments I sit and try and calculate how many fans the club has forecast to lose before the policy of treading water becomes unsustainable. Based on an average of 360quid per season ticket, we’d lose approx. 1,8m per 5000 un-renewed season tickets. Given that our core support, who will always renew is, around the 22,000 mark and we have dropped from around 32,000 during the O’Neill times, I’d suggest that with the other budget cuts, we are now operating at the forecasted rate. So assuming the club is still up for sale, is ticking over nicely and there is still enough income coming in from fans, why would they seek to alter their business strategy? And of course, if matters on the fields are not of the utmost priority, providing Lambert does enough to keep us up, why on earth would they sack him?

Without wanting to appear all Guardianista I find the "special needs" insult offensive.

edit:Apologies as I didn't see that this was dealt with earlier.

The thing is though in the mind of the money obsessed board as long as the TV riches keep coming in then the minuscule proportion of income coming from gate receipts can to all intents and purposes be ignored. I'm not saying I agree with that proposition but you do wonder sometimes that if we lose a couple of million off the gate receipts it's more than made up for by massively increased TV revenue payments. What that idiot Lerner doesn't realise is that the team will soon be playing to a half empty ground if he keeps up with this strategy. If there's one thing I like about Villa fans it's there ability to spot they're being sold a pup and they don't just turn up regardless. I expect a level of entertainment and effort a club of our size should be able to afford, the owner, manager and players aren't delivering on that so why should I be stars to make the effort?
