To be honest I can't see how Lambert can be expected to keep his job now. I've wanted to stick with him but for me the time is up now. With David Moyes available I think it's time to bid farewell and get Moyes in. The axe will start falling at other clubs in the next two months and the best available managers will be employed elsewhere.

Granted the stats don't lie right now but there has been a change with coaches so that means finding the right methods to suit the players. Lambert input during training is not necessarily as big as people may think. He is the manager and not the coach. Lambert trusts Keane and expects him to deliver quality coaching.

I think most people on here are well aware that Lambert has almost no involvement on the training ground, the issue is it's his responsibility to ensure that the coaches he chooses to employ are up to the task.  After 2 1/2 years I can't honestly say that any of our players except Delph looks to have learned anything from the coaches. Not employing a coach specifically for attack training this summer looks like a huge error as well.

I say the performances are indifferent as that's how I see it. This is both fair comment and my opinion.

You're not wrong, there have been some moments in all 6 of the defeats where we've looked ok, but fundamentally we haven't looked like scoring in most of them and we've looked prone to errors in defence.  When you can't create chances and you can't stop other teams creating them the positives of the performances largely become irrelevant, you need to get the coaches to work full time on solving at least 1 of those 2.

Lambert in media interviews has said that the team is capable of scoring goals Lambert puts his own spin on things for the media and to remain solid for the club and fans . In that instance he is doing his job correctly  by giving positive hope that any defeatist attitude. For me that's something that has to be respected.

All well and good but him saying the right things only matters if fans start seeing some evidence that work is being done to rectify the issues, if the same problems happen every week and he gives the same explanations every week it starts to sound like excuses.

A glimmer of hope may come in the form of his beloved Borussia. They too are on an awful losing streak in the league but are kicking serious arse in the Chumps League. Lambert's clearly looking to emulate them, so he's got it half-right with six defeats in a row (I think Dortmund are on five consecutive losses currently in the Bundesliga), now he just has to do the, er other, half - get us into the top four and qualified from our group buy bonfire night the following season. He's clearly a canny one, lulling us into whatever the opposite of a false sense of security is.

True sense of insecurity?

Looking through fellow comments the stats are certainly not good enough for a club of our size and heritage. My observations of  Villa despite the indifferent performances  I can concede the tactics and play is certainly at times due fair criticism.

Burnley, Leicester, Palace, Stripey Twats, Man United.

All very much beatable (Man United are bobbins away from home) but nothing in the past two and a bit years suggests we'll go on a run where we beat three or four in a row and remain unbeatean over a prolonged period.

They seem to be against everyone else they play. I'm guessing it'll be a different story when they come to Villa Park.

What would everyone's opinion be of having Southgate as Villa manager?

Lerner will have chosen somebody poorer than Lambert.

Lambert isn't one to dwell on defeats and I think his time in Germany gives him a resolute mentality . This interview is interesting viewing on how Lambert developed his footballing abilities whilst abroad.

Lambert isn't one to dwell on defeats.

It's a good job. With the number he has overseen he would be suicidal.

Very drole. The point is that Lambert has a different approach to perhaps how a lot of  British football fans and supporters see football. He often comments about we go again and that's exactly the case. Lambert shown he's tough enough to take the defeats as have been the players. Having lost to spurs 3-0 at the end of last season Lambert is quoted as saying it was an incredible achievement to keep Villa in the premier league. Not only this he regards it as his greatest achievement as a manager and a great achievement in his career. Its quite evident again in face of such adversity , namely these last few matches, the villa manager shown real strength and is far from being overwhelmed by negative feelings that you jest of. In fact such mental toughness considering the current situation means Lambert must be really learning . Now that's the hope and let's hope victories can occur under his stewardship.
