Yep well there's all sorts of fires that need putting out in and around the squad, the coaching is clearly a massive problem.

Which is my point - there is very little transparency of the coaching set-up. I've no idea if they are any good but the lack of a forward coach is pretty obvious. Sheringham at West Ham has obviously had an impact by the looks of it.

When we got Keane some were complaining he wasn't much of a tactical coach. But I thought it didn't matter too much as we would soon be getting another in. After all we'd just lost two coaches. Seems I was wrong

Just how bad does it have to get before Lerner/Fox actually do something about it?  It's like a masterclass in neglect.

I don't think Moyes would be right for us at the moment, he needs a project and we're in too difficult a situation. If he came, I believe it would lead to us being relegated before things got better.

Pulis, on the other hand, would keep us up, get us organised and in a better, more stable place.

Nail meets head.

I agree with the first but I'm not so sure with the second and more importantly I don't think I could cope with reading "tony pulis' aston villa", I think that would finally tip me over to completely abandoning watching football.  I'm just not enough of a hypocrite to accept a guy who I've spent years slating because of his approach to the game.  On top of that with Kozak and Benteke you can already see exactly where he'd take us.

With the bully's out of the picture who actually coaches the team these days especially when Keane is off on Ireland duties? Just wondering...?

Coaching. What coaching?

Like the Blackadder quote from the mad Captain Tom Bsker character

'Crew M'Lord? what Crew?'

In an ideal world I don't want Tony Pulis as manager.

I just don't think we can go from where we are, to being back where we should  be in one step.

I'm not a purist so this is a genuine question.  How much worse is Pulis' style of play compared to Lambert's?  If I recall, SGT's first reign was based on very similar principles and certainly wasn't total football, yet we all look back on those days with misty eyes.

Well Palace were certainly better to watch than we were last season.

I can't remember a Villa side showing anything like the hideous gamesmanship of Pulis's Stoke.

Honestly, I'd rather give Lambert another four years on top than have Pulis running us.

Have people forgotten all the anti-football, the Delap thing, the towelling sewn into the shirts to get more traction at throw ins - throw ins which you take as long as you can over, of course. I remember playing stoke once, they took an early lead, and then started wasting time immediately - and this was in the first half.

He did ok with Palace last year, yes, but I think his time at Stoke is far more revealing.

What is the point in replacing a mediocre manager who can't get us playing football with a slightly less mediocre manager with no record in getting anyone playing football?

Lambert has been coaching since the others were let go.

He spends about half an hour at the training pitches and lets Keane do the rest.
