If losing the next 3 games(yes I know that's depressing considering we've lost 6 on the spin already) meant PL gets the sack would people accept that??

Yeah it's a tough 1 and come Saturday il be us gutted as everyone if we lose again.
If we're are to win 1 or more of these games though I still feel it would only be papering over the cracks,I don't think whatever happens now the fans would ever back Lambert

No, I would never accept Villa losing.

Agree, if it happens he has got to be sacked but I'd rather we win all 3 even if that keeps Lambert in the job for another 6months.

Despite thinking Lambert is the wrong man for the job and wanting him out since Bradford and knowing the spurs result would virtually seal that.....I still wanted us to win. I just didnt feel as bad when we lost because I could take a positive from it - we are closer to a fresh start.

Never want to see us lose  , in this case your left with feeling that it would take some as dramatic as losing 9/10 games in a row for Lerner to do something so could understand why people would take losing.

Lambert is a master at setting unwanted records. Appaently, our worst sequence came in 1962-63 when we lost 11 games in a row. I can see Lambert beating that record......

I really don't want Pulis and I think Moyes would be fine now but if he was here for much more than 18months it would become a mistake.

Agreed. I don't want Pulis either but we're limited right now to finding somebody that has the necessary PL experience to drag us out of our never ending slump. If there was the possibility of bringing in Moyes for 18 months then that would be a wonderful solution. He'd have the respect of the players from day 1, he's got a point or two to prove and he'd have the majority of the fans onside which would make a massive difference around Villa Park. Hope would be restored.I'd imagine much depends on his contract terms at The Plastics. If we could bring him in and they had to pay the difference, even better.

We're in a ridiculously stupid position now, scratching around trying to find a half decent manager to save our sorry skins but we've only ourselves to blame. Lambert should have gone in May giving us plenty of time to find a suitable replacement. I could never understand why some thought it best to give him until Christmas when as we're seeing now and was so predictable back then, the standard of alternatives is always going to be limited.

I don't think Moyes would be right for us at the moment, he needs a project and we're in too difficult a situation. If he came, I believe it would lead to us being relegated before things got better.

Pulis, on the other hand, would keep us up, get us organised and in a better, more stable place.

Whilst the squad isn't great there are certainly 3 worse squads than ours.

I guess then problem is the longer it is left the greater the need would be for someone to come in and almost instantly turn it round.....Pulis has recent experience of doing precisely that.

Which is depressing. Pulis.

Just taken a look at the results from the loss at home to Stoke last season   it reads

19 games
4 wins (2 at home to Hull)
2 draws
13 loss's

14 points from 57

Goals for 12 ( against Hull )
Goals against  39

in 19 games we have in fact beaten 3 different teams

Conceded 4 x4
Conceded 3 x 4

It is horrific

I think the most disturbing aspects of all that are that.
1. two of those 4 wins came against Hull
2. 10 of those points came in the first 4 games of this season, and as was feared at the time, this has proved to be a false dawn and papered over the cracks.

Since the end of his first season, the points per game and the quality of performance has been in a seemingly never ending downward spiral, with the odd blip relieving some of the pressure on him.

As I've said elsewhere, the bit that really is worrying in is that based on those last ½ season's worth of results, even if we improved our points haul by 50%, we're still only going to get to between 35 and 40.  Keep up the way we're going and we won't even get to 30.

If their was anyone at the club that had an ounce of gumption around performance management, they'd see what everyone else can.  After 2 and a bit seasons it's been mostly shit with the odd bright blip, and no real evidence to suggest that it's going to get any better.

If there's no reason to think things are going to improve substantially then he's got to go otherwise relegation is what's waiting.  Even giving him another 2 games could be too much.  I don't see how anyone is going to turn around a team that's lost 8 or 9 on the bounce too quickly.  Confidence must be absolutely through the floor.

Mocked by all and sundry in the press about bottom of the pile in all the categories that would normally be a pre-requisite for aspiring to win games.
Even when they've managed to pull slightly better performances out of the last two games they've still ended up with the square root of naff all.
A seemingly never ending injury list to our better players.

They must meet up every morning and wonder what's going to go wrong next and then bet met by Mr. Motivator himself.  (I've finally got round to watching the Helenius interview from a couple of weeks ago.  I'll put something on his thread later, but it didn't reflect particularly well on Lambert.)

He shouldn't just be sacked after that. He should have his coaching licence revoked and never be allowed to work with footballers again. And put on the sex offenders' register

We all remember Bids & Cones.

Maybe Lambert can be used as one of the cones.  Would probably be the productive thing he's done at BH since summer 2013.

With the bully's out of the picture who actually coaches the team these days especially when Keane is off on Ireland duties? Just wondering...?

Not sure I entirely trust wikipedia but they have this list - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aston_Villa_F.C.#Current_backroom_staff

If that's right we have:

Lambert who by all accounts has no day-to-day role with the squad
Keane who's a part time assistant manager
Scott Marshall as the main coach
Gennoe and Andy Marshall as GK coaches
Watts and Lorkin as fitness coaches

So that's 1 main coach for the team who's a defense coach and no one beyond Keane working on attack coaching.  That makes sense given how disorganised we look going forward.

Yep well there's all sorts of fires that need putting out in and around the squad, the coaching is clearly a massive problem.
