He's got to go now. If Lerner gets rid tomorrow it'll take him a month to find a replacement.

Lerner won't even know we've lost until he makes his weekly phone call sometime next week. He wasn't there today was he to see the shambles he's helped create?

I suppose there has been some progress; we've got progressively worse.

I suppose there has been some progress; we've got progressively worse.

After three or four games, we looked like we'd made some progress in defence, but now we don't even seem to have that any more.

There has been zero positive progress thus far, zero.

Please someone correct me

I am sure I heard Lambert say on the radio (pre-game) that he probably knows exactly what Randy Lerner is thinking (when it comes to Villa)

I feel utterly sick and frustrated especially as Lambert can hide behind the controversy and the previous 5 results will be forgotten Lerner will think he's a hero. There is absolutely no hope for the future, none at all
not while Lerner thinks Lambert is doing a good job and I think he really believes he is.

Still waiting for the yellow ticker bar to appear telling me he's either done the right thing and walked or has been shown the door

How much longer can this nonsense continue ?

Two and a quarter seasons of absolute toss

We actually played well today so if you judge it objectively on this game then my answer would be no.

However it's yet another season of hardly winning games, hardly winning at home, hardly scoring goals and being in a relegation battle.

I don't think I'm spoilt when I say I'm bloody sick to death of this same narrative year in year out now. Lambert isn't the only problem of course but it's always easier to change the manager than the owner.

You would think that after losing 23 of the last 36 games that he'd be considering Lamberts position now. 4 year contract after 4 games....... he really hasn't a clue has he.

If Benteke had stayed on the pitch and we had won the game today, we would have been on equal points with Man Utd.

He needs to go. But Lerner hasn't got the balls. He actually rewards failure.  in a club that for most of my 40-odd years following it has specialised in false dawns, giving him a new contract after four games must rank as rewarding the falsest of false dawns.

If we hadn't lost the last six games we'd have been higher up the table, too, but we did.

Lerner rewards achievements in the balance sheet (Bean Counter Cup) - not football. The sooner Lerner goes the better.

I'm all for giving someone a chance and for understanding the job being extremely difficult and in a way impossible competing when everyone else just throws big money into signings.

I also agree trying to keep a manager for a length of time to build on is quite refreshing in this impatient world of football. However enough is enough something needs to change, someone to inject some belief, give us some guidance and organisation, leadership and confidence. We just never look in control, even today we played as well as we have In a while but we are all expecting the game to turn.

Even during that 6-1 win over Sunderland, even then at 4-1 I was all still hoping we would win and not throw it away rather than really enjoining the game.

EDITED: A phone number was in the middle of this post.

I would not sack Lambert on todays performance, but 6 defeats in a row is not about being unlucky.
We are in a real mess.
