He would just say that he doesn't put much stock in statistics.

I wonder what it will actually take for Lerner to dismiss him? Pretty much every poor record, other than relegation has been broken during Lambert's tenure. Home defeats, cup losses, five on the bounce etc. I doubt relegation will work either, due to him getting Norwich up from the championship. I am sick and tired of this shit. Deadly wouldn't have stood for this shit.

Just shows what a fool Lerner is. If I employed someone who consistently devalued the stock of one of my assets, especially when I'm looking to sell he'd be well gone.

These constant failings remind my of that Fawlty Towers sketch when Basil keeps bringing in that shoddy Builder (O' Reilly?).

If you weren't so right it would be hilarious.

When you strip everything back Paul Lambert has essentially become a less well funded and less succesful O'Neill. He doesn't know how to rotate his squad and his only tactic is to counter attack. The only differences are that he hasn't had as much money to spend and he doesn't appear to motivate anyone.

I think you'll find those last 2 are tied together, Mon's motivational expertise seems, in hindsight, to have been mostly about offering big wages and big bonuses.

I called Lambert Mon-lite when we were linked to him and I've never really changed my opinion.  Given I never had a massive issue with how we played under mon (it worked for 3 years but the last season was 1 too many) I've been willing to give Lambert time to try to sort things and get us to the point of having a solid, competitive squad sitting in the top half of the table before we started looking for some to build on that foundation.  The issue is he isn't capable of getting us that foundation, given where we were when he took over I'd have accepted a couple of years to get to a point of being tough to break down and capable of hurting teams at the other end if they don't show us some respect.  At the start of this season it looked like he might have figured it out but the toothless displays since the liverpool game have shown that teams really don't need to have any worry about us hurting them, just double up on our fullbacks and we're fucked.  Once you realise that you can start overloading down our flanks safe in the knowledge that we won't really threaten so long as you keep a steady 3 at the back it becomes a matter of when not if and patience will bring you goals eventually.
that's what I'm struggling with. We looked like we had stabilised and improved a bit early season. The defence looked stronger and we were getting points. Then 5 games of utter toss

I'd like to see Moyes in ASAP before someone else gets him. If we lose Sunday surely lambert is gone and we can start again under someone else. Thus giving us adequate time to sort the mess out and avoid another relegation dog fight.

What does it take to get the Mail behind a campaign on behalf of the fans? In the past you'd have had a broken badge on the back page, demands for a change, an editorial on behalf of the fans etc after a run like this. I looked today and there is next to nothing - other than a small section fromStan Collymore saying we're in a relegation battle (very insightful) and a few fans comments three or four pages in.

The apathy is astonishing.

I'd be absolutely amazed if he went even if we lose Sunday and the next game and the next game etc. There have been plenty of dire runs in Lambert's reign including through to the end of last year. After all this Lerner gave him a new 4 year deal, so I don't see any chance of him being sacked.

Agree- I think Sunday is a freebie. Even a heavy defeat won't move Lerner.

3 more therafter may. I though we needed 7 points to keep ahead of the relegation scrap from this run of games (4-10)and the most we can get is notw 6.

More that any major criticizim of the club/manager leads to them losing access. No coincidence Mat Kendrick was moved off Villa after his critical pieces at the tail end of the season.
