I would like to know the latest TBAR stance?

There's nobody left over there - it's like the Marie Celeste.

With Moyes could be fair to argue that United despite Van Gaal and a massive spending spree and roughly at the same points there where under Moyes and arguably their best player in the last 2 games has been Fellani who he brought.

Lambert's first season you could see us scoring it's just we couldn't defend , now we can't score as everyone has worked out his 3 man attack of Gabby/Benteke and Weimann and we still can't defend ! QPR have a shocking defence at yet really we didn't trouble them at all.Even that nob Redknapp worked out all he had to do was have the team sit deep and we wouldn't be able to do anything.

They had Fer playing LM and poorly , we should have stuck Gabby out there and have him attack him with his pace but no we just played some wierd formation where Gabby hovered around in the middle and did nothing of any note. The tactic if you can call them that are shocking , its the reason he has 4 times been done over by lower league clubs in the cup !!

This is the bit I find most weird and depressing: he was feted as a master-tactician when he came to us but has screwed up many a game by demonstrating little tactical insight and adopting a MON-esque aversion to change when opposition-led adaptation is required.

Last night I voted to give him 'til Christmas. Because I'm like that and like to give people a chance.

Today, on reflection, I'm sick of it. The same lack of cohesion, shocking tactics, a front-line that wouldn't recognise each other if they shared a one-bed flat, young players that are making the same mistakes they did 2 years ago and manager/coaching staff that seem devoid of a plan or of any interest.

We started well, took the game to QPR who basically did to us what we try (and often fail) to do to others, soak it up and hit on the break.

Enough.

Given your obvious obsession, why don't you go and have a look.

I had a sneaky peeky over there a couple of weeks ago. They'd rolled the Citeh pre/match/post match threads into one mega thread - it ran to 7 pages and had a poll of 24 people. Someone should put it out of its misery

The only thing slightly putting me off Moyes is that's it's possibly more of the same, another dour Scotsman. Don't get me wrong, i've nothing against the Scottish at all and he'd probably do a better job than Lambert but I see what Southampton have tried to do. They could have played safe when Pochettino (or whatever his name is) left but they brought Koeman in and they're playing some good stuff. Maybe we should try a different approach next time.

Didn't Eastie plug Koeman

Also our continental excursions haven't been roaring successes

In fairness, there's only been Venglos and Houiller and Venglos was nearly 25 years ago.

Venglos was the forerunner for the top flight if I remember.
I always felt it was too soon, back then, and it didn't help having trigger happy Doug as your boss.

Two things unite fans; outright success and outright failure. It is such a shame that you have had to come to your conclusion based on the latter. All of us it appears have come to this place at varying speeds. I'm glad I took a more measured approach but in the end I am now no different to those who wanted him gone last year. Enough is the right word here.

I'm with you here Toronto. I didn't want Lambert out but enough is enough. This is just not going to get any better. thanks Paul but you just haven't shown that you can turn this around. By that i don't mean stopping us losing and not scoring, but our general malaise, lack of attacking ability, and enjoyment at watching us. We still haven't got past 5 days before the start of Milner's last game.

I would take a defeat against Spurs if it guaranteed Lambert was sacked forthwith.

I actually believe that a 6th defeat will be enough if the performance is as insipid as the usual stuff his team produces and the crowd react accordingly.

I can not see how he can survive a Bolton moment.

It is a worrying sign that those that have tried to stick with him are now fully against. Tell you that Southampton game on the 24th could be carnage.

I wouldn't want to be stuck with Moyes. He looks to me like a manager whose ideas are on the way out, and got through the last five years at Everton by sheer stability (a very underrated thing). However, in the age of the Pochettino and the Rodgers, I don't think there's any excuse for Villa to just keep employing managers who learned their tactics in the f***ing SPL, every time, over and over again. Is there nobody more interesting in the world?
Be careful what you wish for.. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer...Di Canio...

That's an easy enough argument to counter, though .. Lambert, McLeish, O'Leary (to take one approach) or Pochettino, Koeman, whicheverothersuccessfuleuropeanmanager (to take the other one).

I don't care where the next manager comes from, so long as he knows his stuff, knows the modern game and will be able to get us playing decently.

We thought we were getting that with Lambert. It clearly hasn't worked out, to put it lightly.

I agree. It doesn't matter to me where the manager's from (I mentioned Rodgers, for instance), but the vast majority of 'managers' from this country have antediluvian views on football, and our continued trust in this type has dragged us down to their level.

In fairness to Lambert, his comments in the past about possession were proved right last night to a point.  You can have the majority of the possession in game all you want, but if you do bugger all with it, its a waste of time.

This team should have more than enough to be clear of trouble if managed and coached in a way that gets the best out of the players.  Lambert has repeatedly failed in this area. At the moment, I don't even see what our tactic is supposed to be.  Its almost "lets try and keep the other team at bay while we think of something".  I don't thinks its that the players don't believe in him, they just don't understand what they're supposed to do.

If you ever want us to lose go and want it somewhere else.

I don't want us to lose. I want us to win. I just can't see it happening this weekend, nor can I see anything happening about TOSM and his new 4-year contract.
