Looking at the full table, things are very congested and a win on Sunday puts us in the top half and actually above Spurs. The goals conceded are about par, one worse than Man United, not as bad as the clubs below us... but that 4 goals scored sticks out like a sore thumb.

If you were Lambert, why wouldn't you throw caution to the wind? You've lost five in a row, alright four of them are much better sides, but you haven't scored and the only time we looked like doing so was Clark missing three sitters; two last night and one against Arsenal.

What have we really got to lose by chucking in some width and giving it a go?

Our recent record against Spurs is horrendous. 5 straight losses and no goals scored. A bit like our current league record.

We've won 1 out of the last 13 games against Spurs. What a depressing stat against a team who many on here consider to be not as good as us.

I've thought for some time that if we lose to Albion and he's gone. Villa fans won't accept a defeat to that lot and Randy will be left with no choice. It would be a storm neither he or Lambert couldn't ride out.

Right now, no doubt the line about having had to play the top 5 is being fed. Forget that we just lose to the bottom of the league team yesterday, Lerner will give him a few more games to prove himself.

The fact that Moyes is now available will also be a major deciding factor.

I think that has to be the case though, where you cannot keep reinforcing failure and take action. I think there is an excuse for losing the previous four, not necessairly so limply, but that cannot be applied to last night against a side who will be lucky to hit 30 points.

You lose the next three ahead of winninable games against other sides around us and you have a side that's lost 8 on the spin, 20% of the season down the pan in one sequence. What happens if you then lose to Burnley? Where do you draw the line?

I am not saying that is what is going to happen, we may (hopefully) stop the rot on Sunday, I guess what I am doing is retreating from my earlier comments when I said "its not going to happen", given the above sort of scenario would make it almost impossible for him to stay.

I'm not convinced Randy could talk Moyes into the job, he couldn't with Martinez.

Wanted him gone during the close season, but brought back into somewhat at the start of this one. he was never going to tear up trees, but with the potential sale I thought that he had learnt his lessons and that we might be on an upward curve, however slight that might be.

Dave Cooper put something on Twitter I think last night about the option of Pulis. At the moment that seems like fantasy, and I wouldn't have said that a few years ago.

Lambert needs to go and sooner the better.

Why on earth would Moyes come?

OK, I'll re-phrase that, the only way Moyes would ever contemplate coming is if Randy takes us off the market and promises a significant transfer chest.

Moyes won't come when there's uncertainty around.

It's crazy to even think this given some of the football played and goals scored in his first season but I genuinely don't think he knows how to anymore. Don't ask me how that could even happen but it has. Giving it a go might seem the right response but doesn't kind of suggest that every pre-game press conference? My fear in him giving it a go now is more Bradford than any kind of structured strategy to create genuine freedom of play. I fully expect us to lose to Tottenham on Sunday because they will have the ball and they will score and we won't know how to. I'm depressed I am even mentally at this place because I have tried to remain as positive as possible and I am just worn out by it all.

Moyes wouldn't be the manager to make us successful in the event of a takeover, and I doubt he'd come to us in our current situation either. Frankly, I'd rather have Pulis, just to make sure we stay in the league (I feel ill at typing that), and maybe if we get another shot at the top we hire, for once, someone who has no connection to the Old Bhoys network.

Am I wrong in thinking that our managers are some of the highest paid in the league, if not Europe?

That's one reason Moyes would come, the other is that the Villa is the footballing equivolent of the siren sitting on the rocks. If you back yourself as a top manager, then your ego is sufficient for you to think "I can be the man to turn it around".

Starting from such a low ebb (15th) when the squad should be a lot higher also works in your favour.

Lose this weekend, then against West Ham, then Southampton at Villa park on the 24th looks like the watershed game for me. Lose that, and Villa park should be in full voice against the manager. The board are already wanting out. so no point going after them, full on Lambert out should be the message.

The idea that Pulis would turn down a chance to manage Aston Villa is an odd one for me. He would never manage a bigger club than us.

Same here. I have hardly been on here in the last 2-3 weeks because I am mentally too knackered by it all. I just want it over, fuck him off and get someone to make us proud of the Villa out on the pitch.

Pullis would rip our hand off to come.

Moyes I am not so sure about.
