David Moyes would be ideal for us. He has a reputation to revive and i think he would be excellent for us.
However would he want the job while the club is up for sale. Pulis would keep us up but would fans settle for a "Stoke" style of football week in and week out once he got settled in?

Putting my head on the block, but I've always admired Tony Pullis.
He seems to get his teams playing in a way that the players feel comfortable with.
Yes, sometimes it's not pretty, but I actually thought he'd started turning the corner with Stoke and Palace played some decent stuff from what I remember.
Would I want him at the Villa? If he could keep us up, yes. (Never thought I'd say that!!)

Maybe Lerner should bite the bullet and get Moyes in.
Very much doubt it, though

Talk all you like about who will take over from Lambert, but I fear you might be waiting a long long time
He just signed a 4 year deal, I doubt he's going anywhere soon

We would all like a change because the whole of football involving Villa at the moment is stagnant,
But Randy isn't going to offer Lambert a new deal only to sack him a few weeks later

Sadly, I agree, John.

Pulis probably stayed at Stoke too long. After the game at their place when Lowton scored his wonder goal, he was getting absolutely slaughtered on their local radio and let's not forget how bloody awful to watch his Stoke teams were.  He did do a very good job at Palace though.

if we loose the next five, or most of  them and don't win any, he might have to sack him.

Me too. In fact, it is this lack of hope for change that bothers me most, I think.

Me as well.  It's the knowledge that we are stuck with Lambert whatever happens that's the killer.  We are heading for relegation, we all know it, but no one is doing anything about it.  Criminal.

I would imagine he will be checking the probation terms of his contract...

New Manager come Monday - its a given
« Reply #7330 on: October 28, 2014, 02:02:27 PM »
Once Paul Lambert has been sacked on Sunday evening after our 6th consecutive defeat without scoring a goal (a new club record!) and he has had his "Bolton" moment, I would like to see Roy Keane put in temporary charge until the end of the season.

Come late December and its not working then I would like to see David Moyes given a go in January, fresh with a transfer window to play with to save this abysmal season. Some idiot somewhere suggested Steve Mclaren, to be perfectly honest even he would be better than PL right now.

Steve McLaren wouldn't touch us. He's better staying with Derby who will take our place in the PL next season.

There will be a breaking point, even if he has been given a four year deal. Should we go on and lose the next three, then the pressure would be incredible ahead of Burnley and then games against the Albion, Leicester and Palace.

We are actually a bit like Newcastle at the moment.

They are stuck with a manager they hate and an owner who loves him.

Our recent record against Spurs is horrendous. 5 straight losses and no goals scored. A bit like our current league record.
