I've been trying to think who Lerner reminds me of , it's a quiet version of Louis Winthorpe III

And I think we'd have a lot more fun with Billy Ray Valentine.

Y'all'd even have a lot more fun with billy ray cyrus 'n his achy breaky heart fer chrissakes.

The talk is adding quality not quantity today , does not seem that simple to me giving how we ended season.

Neither LB looks up for it so need another

Both Target men are injured though Kozak should return for the season start he is no CB so with Helenuis told to go and Holt gone will he once again be after a striker ?

Albrighton off with no fee , N'zogbia and Tonev looking surplus to requirements he needs to bring creativity width in or rely on promoting Grealish

CB alot resting on Okore as clearly Baker/Clark are not good enough. So idealy need another

Thats just playing staff , backroom wise will Given remain as coach , does Cowans ideally want to stay with first team.I can see why Lambert nas been retained but equally him stayin with no backroom and trusting him with funds seems equally a gamble.

I think you should wait before passing judgement on that one.  Kozak does look one of Lambert's more impressive signings to date, and does look like he may well be a force for us given a full season.

Am surprised to hear of rumors connecting players to and from the club.  This maybe suggests than a buyer is still a way off and they think it might be best to do some business while they wait.  Would be interesting if Lambert made one or two promising buys, but then wasn't around to work with them.  This could be a long summer...

Kozak's got no pace. For a team with our limitations that's a real problem I think. You need to be able to stretch teams, and with a lack of real quality the easiest way to do that is a ball down the channels.

Kozak looked like Van Basten compared to Weimann or Gabby last season. He is likely to improve too, Weimann may or may not improve. Gabby has zero chance of improving.

Kozak is a good player. He finds space and can stick it away. He looks ungainly because he is so tall and unfortuantely the squad grew lazy and thought he was a target man. But if we could sign a couple of creative midfielders, be they loan signings or whatever, who have an eye for a killer ball, then he will score us plenty.

I like players that look ungainly, they're often underestimated. I think back to the game at the baggies, whilst we were fucking dreadful for an hour he stood out like a beacon, the half volley in the first half that scraped the bar was made out of nothing. He was really unlucky to come off.

He'll graft all day, his movement is class and he has an instinct to try the unconventional if it means getting a shot away, and that's the mark of a goalscorer.

I agree, he seems to like playing 1 or 2 touch football so outside the box we need people moving around him and in the box we need to get the ball in to him quickly, like Benteke he does a great job of dropping off his defender and finding a yard of space.

One thing I liked about Kozak is that he understands the importance of a good goal celebration.

I seem to recall him scoring and pretty much diving into the crowd in one game last season. He also did that "run behind the net towards the away fans" thing, too.

Something he's learned in Italy, no doubt.

I don't entirely understand why we spent such a large percentage of our transfer budget on him, and I can just about see why he might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I fail to see how anyone can not think he did alright in the matches he played for us.

We're certainly going to need him until Benteke is fit again and his goal to game ratio for us so far is good. Can't see any reason for people to give him stick.

Having watched Gabby, Holt and Bowery try and play the position, Kozak returning will be the most welcome thing I can imagine!

Wouldn't go that far, but agree that judgement should be reserved on him for now.  I think he will need a strike partner to play alongside him though as he doesn't look mobile enough to play up front on his own.

I think Kozak will get 15-20 a season if we can keep him fit and play to his strengths, the key is we need to avoid the mindset that he's a big guy so we can lump the ball at him, he's not a target man.

I actually was really impressed with Bowery's shifts in the last couple of games.  He had a lot of pressure on him, especially with the lack of starts.  He looked more dangerous than Gabby to be fair and knew how to hold the ball up.  Id have no issues him remaining as a back up striker.

He had a decent game against Hull but overall he's not been good enough for the Premiership. We'll need better back up strikers if we want to do better than we have been doing.
