I fear we are going to need more than a transfer speculation/bs thread, maybe one just entitled b*llsh*t would cover us.

My intention in starting this thread was solely to suggest that Mjallby , given his connection to Lambert , may possibly be in line to become an Assistant to him at the end of this season . In my opinion it was a perfectly reasonable suggestion , given in simple sincerity .
I find the comments of ´newbie ´ and the aptly named ´Dr Gonzo ´who,s pretentions to be a wannbe Hunter.S.Thomson are at best , laughable , wholly unjustified .  There was nothing contentious about the premise of this thread , it was just a simple statement of a credible possibility that may or may  give rise to some  discussion , I thought that this was the ´raison d'etre' of this site . If the likes of ´Dr Gonzo ´want to pour their pretentious vitriolic sarcasm  out on paper I suggest  they choose someone else other than a fellow Villa Supporter . Its people like you who sometimes prevent lesser lights like myself  from starting or joining debates on this site .
By the way ,´Dr Gonzo ´, I have met Hunter .S.Thomson ( Portland . Ore  , sometime in the late Seventies ) , I have read Hunter.S.Thompson  and to paraphrase the late Senator from Texas , Lloyd Bentsen , " You Sir are no Hunter .S.Thompson´" .............................Godzvilla !
Part of a discussion forum is being able to handle differing opinions and criticism of your own without resorting to personal insults, so I would appreciate it if in future you avoided doing the same. Thanks.

There was no need to ridicule the thread. I thought it was really interesting and could be even more so should it come to pass. Lambert if staying will want his own men.

Good grief.  Sorry to have offended old boy.  My point being do we start a thread for every manager/assisstant manager/retiring pro in the game who might perchance, possibly come to work at Villa.  If so I shall nip off instanter and begin the Chris Hughton thread for I believe that he and Paul Lambert once shared a drink together at a bar in Charing Cross.  Perspective dear boy, perspective.  A 100 word diatribe in reaction to a passing comment on an internet message board would seem something of an over reaction.  However as I said if I offended it was not my intent.

Apology accepted ,Dr Gonzo and  in the words of your mentor  ( Hunter .S.Thompson )  " I will fight for your right to be weird- just as I know you will fight for mine.”........................Godzvilla

Is not really worth a thread though is it? I mean it's pretty tenuous.

I'll merge it with the Lambert thread

I think that's very true and includes me as much as many others, it has been very noticeable over the last few weeks. I think things have affected us all much more than we probably realise

Lamberts approach to football have changed greatly from last season to this. Last season he had the approach of we will score more than them. Some very good games but some spectacular failures. This year he has got Scott Marshall in to tighten up the defence which has improved slightly but the exciting type of football has gone. We also hunted in packs closing people down when the oposition had the ball but this has gone down the pan with I guess players shattered confidence. More recently going down the route of TSM and sending his team out to get a point, all very dissapointing.

That's my biggest thing this season. I remember after the Chelsea away game, Mourinho went on about how much long ball stuff we played. I thought, 'Lambert's Villa'? No chance. We're naive, and too open, but we pass the ball well.

But as the season has gone on we've generally been pretty uninspiring and played a lot of the long stuff. It's a bit like what happened under O'Neill actually. Just less successful.

My son and I had a long telephone conversation about saying the unsayable ie Gabby is fucked, Andi ain't the new Shearer, etc. etc.   I added that despite Brad Guzan's standing with the fans he has to be held responsible for his part in hoofball.   He has either been told to do it by the late unlamented coaches and Lambert in which case he should have refused or he was doing it of his own volition which is worse.   One way or another we have morphed into a TSM team.
