The very least I expected yesterday was a motivated team with two new coaches and a more hands on approach from the manager. We got yet another performance synonymous with the last two seasons under Lambert's tenure.

Maybe it wasn't Culverhouses's fault after all?

Yeah it thought the Cowans and Given appointments would give us a lift, but if anything we looked even more subdued.

We at least got something from the game, which is an improvement on recent weeks.

These appointments were four days before the match, they're not going to have any impact for a while.

I would have felt that the players themselves would have been happier, after the events of the last week, and therefore would have put in a better effort and performance but that didn't happen so we come back to the fact that all is still not right down at Villa Park and perhaps won't be until Lambert is shown the door!

How can Lambert be seperated from any blame?
I think no Lambert - boost in moral and better tactics so why he is still there baffles me.The players did acknowledge the fans after yesterdays game and maybe a little corner was turned with the players, they should all give it the Albrighton method and just take the game to the opposition.

Villa bound  ? , former Celtic teammate of Lambert & Stan ,  highly regarded at Celtic ......................Godzvilla !

Celtic have announced the surprise departure of assistant manager Johan Mjallby ,The club revealed the Swede would leave Celtic Park at the end of the season to look at new challenges in football.

Mjallby told the club's official website: "I have enormous affection for Celtic Football Club and it is with sadness that the time to leave has arrived. However, I now leave to seek some different opportunities."

Don't be mental, we need a Villa man.

Step forward, Gavin McCann.

If we're after a Villa man then Sasa Curcic is the chosen one.

I would prefer DJ Campbell if we are going along the Villa route. Someone you could trust!

I fear we are going to need more than a transfer speculation/bs thread, maybe one just entitled b*llsh*t would cover us.

My intention in starting this thread was solely to suggest that Mjallby , given his connection to Lambert , may possibly be in line to become an Assistant to him at the end of this season . In my opinion it was a perfectly reasonable suggestion , given in simple sincerity .
I find the comments of ´newbie ´ and the aptly named ´Dr Gonzo ´who,s pretentions to be a wannbe Hunter.S.Thomson are at best , laughable , wholly unjustified .  There was nothing contentious about the premise of this thread , it was just a simple statement of a credible possibility that may or may  give rise to some  discussion , I thought that this was the ´raison d'etre' of this site . If the likes of ´Dr Gonzo ´want to pour their pretentious vitriolic sarcasm  out on paper I suggest  they choose someone else other than a fellow Villa Supporter . Its people like you who sometimes prevent lesser lights like myself  from starting or joining debates on this site .
By the way ,´Dr Gonzo ´, I have met Hunter .S.Thomson ( Portland . Ore  , sometime in the late Seventies ) , I have read Hunter.S.Thompson  and to paraphrase the late Senator from Texas , Lloyd Bentsen , " You Sir are no Hunter .S.Thompson´" .............................Godzvilla !

Good grief.  Sorry to have offended old boy.  My point being do we start a thread for every manager/assisstant manager/retiring pro in the game who might perchance, possibly come to work at Villa.  If so I shall nip off instanter and begin the Chris Hughton thread for I believe that he and Paul Lambert once shared a drink together at a bar in Charing Cross.  Perspective dear boy, perspective.  A 100 word diatribe in reaction to a passing comment on an internet message board would seem something of an over reaction.  However as I said if I offended it was not my intent.

I must admit I thought it was a reasonable suggestion and worthy of debate but I'm guessing hardly anyone knows anything about him in order to add anything constructive.

Furthermore, I'd guess most people cannot see a positive future with Lambert at the helm and therefore are inclined to ridicle any thought that includes him moving forward.
