I realise it's difficult for those who were backing him right up to last week to admit they were wrong. I empathise with you as I thought he was the right man when we took him on and so I was wrong too. I just realised it ages ago. Those who didn't have taken great delight in telling us all to 'man up' or 'grow a pair' or some such other language over the last few weeks. They seemed to be revelling in the fact that they thought we were wrong. And if you Toronto, think I've revelled in it, then touche mate, I had you down as better than that. We can all be sanctimonious...

I don't think I've ever read a post from anyone so happy that their team has lost.

Cheap shot Dave, you can gang up on me all you like

You can give it out but you certainly can't take it.

Second cheap shot of the night Dave, you're on a hat trick now...

That's rich considering what you've come out with.

Match ball Dave! Does H and V pay for it?

No, but we do let you on here so you can say what you like then throw a tantrum when anybody disagrees with you.

I still quite like him, for some reason I can't quite fathom.

I just don't want him managing my football club beyond this summer.

I would change to 'beyond today'

I'd hope there was some sort of performance related break clause in the contract.

This made me laugh.

This is from an Owner / CEO who didn't have a contingency plan when O'Neill fucked off, recruited (eventually) an ill Has Been Domeneque fan and side kick stooge who messed up in record timeand followed this up with the single most disastrous appointment in the modern history of Villa.

This little lot cost us the best part of £15m including a fairly hefty goodwill payment to our near neighbours.

And you think they have the vision to have a performance related clause.

They were going to offer him a new contract a few weeks back.

You mean McAllister? I thought he did rather well. Probably the only bright point in the past few years.

I mean both of them - they turned us from Top 6 into Relegation Scrappers 3 months after they took over. Only spending £30m+ in January saved us. And even then he had to bring back players they had apparently alienated.

I seem to recall when McAllister was solely in charge for a few months we did rather well. For sure he pissed off some players, from the outside it seemed to be with good reason as he worked them a lot harder than they liked.

So Houllier getting ill was good then? Well we should have cut out the middle man and not hired him. And hired the ex Leeds / Boro assistant as manager from the start then? Clealry.

What a weird thing to say. Of course not. Just noting he was not a "side kick stooge who messed up in record time". He was a side kick stooge who did pretty well when asked to take over as manager.

But never a long term appointment. It would have ended worse than TSM

Night night all, been a great night on here, I still think we're shit by the way. Oh, and I thought it a long time ago. Did I mention that? No, I thought not.

Loads of us think we're shit and have done for a while, however most of us don't consider this a great night. Hope you're happy.

Richard, what point are you trying to prove when telling people you knew all along this how it would end up? None of us really know how things are going to turn out, and if you end up being right or wrong it still doesn't mean you knew it all along. Right now, I don't see any value in scoring points. We should all be in this together, and for the first time most people on here are of the same opinion. It's not a good day.
TV you are the only one trying to score points and start on people tonight.

Excuse me for butting into your dispute but I completely disagree.  You and Richard in particular seem to be revelling in how right you've been all along.  I've found your tone hostile and provocative when referring to or addressing anyone who might not have been as clever as you (ie. anyone who hasn't been calling Lambert a "moron" and an "idiot" for at least a year).  Toronto has, relatively speaking, come across as a voice of reason, and your reaction is to be smug and condescending.  I've seen a few of you do this on here recently; you fuel an argument with a vociferous outburst, and then have the nerve to claim the moral high ground when a few more level-headed people take exception to your attitude.  And then you back each other up with a grin and a wink and it's other people who "hunt in packs".  You don't come across as being overly pleasant.  Sorry if that takes the edge of your champers but I felt the urge to say it.

I now await you all proving my point with your accusations of wanting to be a moderator, waiting in the wings, being sanctimonious, all that guff.  You can set your clock by it, eh DC5?

It's a normal night then.

Blimey, I figured it wouldn't be too long before you stepped in. I fully expect within a post or two for you to advise me that my posts aren't relevant because I don't go to the games. I know you want to.

You know very well that it is yourself who waits in the wings to have a go at other posters, backed up by a couple of others who have yet to arrive tonight. You are not a moderator but seem to act as if you are. Why is that?

I don't. Not even close. You give off an air of arrogance because you go to games. You've made a number of comments recently that are just throw away yet delivered in a manner suggesting "I know something you lot don't". Why is that?

I may know something but there is no point mentioning it here because it gets slagged off. Now, don't change the subject please, why do you act as if you are so superior to everyone else?

Have to say the boring tit for tat is just that, it is a football forum and there will be disagreements, but get on with it FFS

Nobody revels in our predicament, particularly those who are not so blinkered as to know that we are in one.
