If he does go should Faulkner go as well?

Many refuse to look a the evidence before our  eyes. Those appointing the managers are more to blame than the managers themselves.

They are leading us to one place and one place only.

Absolutely - to be with the also rans of Doncaster, The Neanderthals, Bolton, Middlesboro.

Probably about this time next year.

I really believe Sunderland and Norwich will pull out a stunning win against somebody you don't expect them to have a prayer against, taking us into a very uncomfortable end to the season. The date at which I'd be happy for the season to stop gets earlier every year.

We're going backwards at a rapid rate now. Last season we at least played some decent stuff, we haven't done that this year. Our defence is reverting to being awful too and we're getting dragged in. Enough is enough.

Changing the manager now can't be any worse than what we have ...

... although I can't of anyone likely to get more of this squad.

Think I'd sack him if West Brom finish above us which is a fair possibility now.

I honestly couldn't give a shit where the Boggies finish, as long as it's not them in 17th and us in 18th. It would be embarrassing, but I believe I could take it as long as safety was guaranteed. The Bitters won't go down either, unfortunately.

Get McGath in the summer and let Sid handle the first team until then?

I wouldn't bother with Magath. He may have bested Lambert but that's not hard.

I rated him before he rocked up at Fulham. He has real pedigree. He was always on a hiding to nothing at Fulham.

Dave, you can't think of anyone likely to get more out of this squad? I can't think of anyone likely to get less out of this squad. What we need is a decent manager and coach. The players aren't half as bad as Lambert makes them look.

That 45 minutes at Liverpool is what baffles me. It was like BFR vintage Villa the way we passed and moved. Why Lambert has been incapable of repeating that I just don't know.

I would boot him tonight. Give it to anyone with a fucking plan till May. We are a fucking shambles.

I've previously thought booting him now would make no sense, but honestly, I don't see how he's going to get anything more on the table in the next six games, so I don't think it'll make much difference.

I agree. We probably only need 2 or 3 points to be safe but I don't think this guy has it in him.

We need anybody, literally anybody who can set a team up to play football on the ground. We have the personnel to play that way for sure. We've played half of games (Liverpool etc) wonderfully well. Then Lambchops gets his hands on them, tells them to cut out the passing and running into channels so we can hoof it at Benteke some more and hope Weimann scores a flick on.

No more dour Scots. Get Sid in for the rest of the season. Put some passion back in the shirt.

We look exactly like we did under TSM in his last 4 or 5 games

Thing is I'm just completely sick of this. Each season over the last few, coming into the last 5 or 6 games we've been scrapping to survive. The team don't entertain the fans and we've just been limping along with no apparent plan other than cost cutting. It's thoroughly depressing.
