The annoying / frustrating thing is how bad we have been this season, we're still in 11th. There is a lot of dross / much of a muchness in the lower part of the division.

A couple of favourable results and we'd easily be 9th, maybe 8th.

We're not 11th anymore.

We're not in Kansas either.

The Fulham manager has only been there five minutes and Poyet has improved Sunderland immensely, I think it's unfair to judge that they are "not doing very well".

In any case we should be aiming to catch up with Everton, or at least Southampton, who have foreign managers who are doing pretty well. I don't want to be battling relegation every year. We're not Coventry.
I agree we are shambles and the Club owners need to get a grip however "on not doing very well" if we are shit and we are it's also fair to judge others by the same scale.

W must be the worst run club in the Premier League over the past six or seven years?

We have been badly run that's for sure.

Everton, Spuds and Newcastle were our peer group and we have been below these most (all?) of the time over the last 4 seasons.

Our new peer group are Stoke, Fulham, Albyion, Sunderland and other assorted dross.

Three points off second you forgot to add. Why don't you compare their squad and resources with the other teams in the top-seven and then get back to me as to why he has 'failed' at Feyenoord and what you would class as success?
3 points off second maybe but not title contenders.  9 points away from Ajax they have as much chance of winning their League as we have for qualifying for Europa League. Feyenoord are historically a top club in Holland and Koeman has not managed to get them back to where they belong.

Surely they cant be that stupid twice can they DCF?

Who really knows what happened? Tales of £9m compensation surely can't be true. Another version is that he was sacked. Do we, or those who follow, get to find out in 30 years time like they do in the Government?

If we go down he had better fall on his sword, although he's probably got the Celtic job tied up regardless. Billy McNeill all over again.

They were challenging for the title up until a few weeks ago, therefore they were title contenders this season. Just because Ajax are now pulling away, it doesn't change that in the same way that if Arsenal now fall away it won't change the fact they were title contenders this season. You say 'Koeman has not managed to get them back where they belong' which is as literally ridiculous and you'd think a Villa fan of all people would refrain from such an argument. Feyenoord last won the title in 1998, so again I ask what more you expect than finishing second and third in his first two seasons and on course to repeat that this season?

That's best argument I have heard for Koeman!

Fine. You have much better knowledge of Dutch football so we will leave it there.

The annoying / frustrating thing is how bad we have been this season, we're still in 11th. There is a lot of dross / much of a muchness in the lower part of the division.

A couple of favourable results and we'd easily be 9th, maybe 8th.

We're not 11th anymore.

I sometimes dream of the days when we were eleventh. Halcyon days.

Fuck 11th, I was told a few weeks ago to stop being a bloody drama queen because we were 10th. The fool in question never bothered to check or chose to ignore the points total. Each to their own.

The good thing is that everyone's retained a sense of perspective.
