Personally, I think the majority of the squad hate Lambert. There's no way a bunch of players that are individually this bad can have ended up at the same club at the same time. Put a decent manger in there and we'll canter to safety.

I do wonder whether he has lost the dressing room.

Which begs the question what has changed from his previous managerial positions where he appeared to galvanize the club?

There is something rotten in the state of Aston Villa and that is from the very top down.  We're a rudderless ship and, frankly, a sole ambition of preserving Premier League status will ultimately be our undoing.  No club can survive on such lowly a target.

We need a Graham Taylor style figure to come in and sort Randy and the entire club out. We are just a complete mess right now. I just don't see such a figure lurking on the horizon.
Wrong, we need SGT himself to start making a few footballing decisions instead of the fucking clowns who are running the club into oblivion at the moment.

But what decent manager would come to Villa knowing how small his budget would be?

When you look at the financial situations abroad, there are actually many managers who would relish having £20m per season to spend. Koeman being one of them.

Post of the day for me!!  This is absolutely correct.  Unfortunately, I also don't see anyone out there.

I think there is no doubt that he has lost the dressing room.   If we can see that he has favourites and hate figures it is impossible for the players not to see it.   He freezes out Helenius, he freezes out Albrighton, he has frozen out Hutton, Bent, Given and the rest, yet KEA who in my humble opinion is not even a championship midfield standard player is his first name on the team sheet, ditto Weimann.   If we do get rid of Lambert and I don't think we will, but if we did they would need a double decker bus to shift out the personnel any competent incoming manager would file under 'B' for bomb squad.

That is what I meant in reaction to Lamberts "Mid Table or a little bit higher" statement. It is this attitude that stinks and seems to infiltrate the whole club. There is a massive difference between realistic and defeatist.

I honestly think its just a case of this job being too big for him.  The media, the fan expectations, the sheer size of the club dwarf anything he would have experienced at Norwich and he is struggling with the weight of it all and that is transcending to the players.  There's just something not right either about the spirit of the dressing room that was very much there last season.

It's not just Lambert that needs to go it's Randy as well.  He has mis managed us into this position and needs to sell up and fuck off, all this bollox about getting the wage bill down.  How can you compete in the Premiership if you wont pay premiership wages and buy players for fuck all?

Every time I watch KEA, I just think what exactly does he do? He cant beat anyone, not good in the air, no penetrating runs or passes. cant tackle and seems to spend his whole game running around and achieving nothing. Baffling.

Correct. It will only end up going 1 way.

Just as I now can't defend Lambert I can no longer defend Randy, both need to leave and get someone in who knows how to manage and run a football club.
The PR has worn off, the proud history is still there but the bright future has had it's light turned off.

You forgot to add Lowton to the players he has frozen out Brian . It is obvious that there has been a falling out between them.

I wonder what Vlaar means by this tweet and it being unnecessary and not being able to say more now?

@RonVlaar4: I'm sorry for this result, unnecessary, can't say more now....

He's just trying to manage expectations.  People do it in all walks of life for very good reasons.

But I'm tired of people like him talking down my club in order to make his turgid mediocrity look better.  No we're not going to win the league, as if any of us not detained under section needed that spelling out, but how about we have a crack at not being fucking useless?

The trouble with Randy selling is who will he sell to. As frustrated as I am my the fact he seems to have lost interest, we don't want to end up with another Carsen Yeung.

Regarding Lambert, I also wonder about him sometimes. That said, he's hamstrung by the club being run on a budget. And I don't see a queue of eager, qualified replacements crawling on hands and knees up Witton Lane. And if there were I have no faith in Lerner to pick the right one.
