How more obvious can it be that our shit play is Lambert's fault? Even by a law of averages you'd expect half the team to know what they're doing. If you put, say, Eddie Howe, or Dean Smith in charge at Villa I'd expect us to play better, more mature football. Lambert is a crap manager, his players may not be top flight players but they actually look like they're not even footballers under him.

Agreed - its a joke that faulkner and Lerner think he's doing a good job .

I don't know when this terrible situation is going to stop, though. Lerner, Faulkner and Lambert are like a gang and they're all very satisfied with the way they're doing things.

This is what depresses me the most.

If the plan amounts to staying up on the cheap then things are indeed going swimmingly.  If, however, you are even marginally more ambitious than that then things are crushingly mediocre.

It's like I wrote in my latest piece: this thing about Villa bidding for somebody more headline-grabbing than Hoolahan but it not working out is supposed to pacify us into thinking we're trying our best, but it's like telling the missus you're cooking lobster thermidor for Valentine's Day and then serving her an egg-and-cress sandwich.

Only our clueless owner could think of rewarding a manger who has lost ten matches at home in just over half a season with a  further three year contract

This. . Almost as inept as employing TSM - possibly worse. I could fucking weep.

It just proves their lack of ambition. Bobbing along around mid table is great for them.

I think that's about it.  Moreover, I think they are probably shit scared of going through another recruitment process as nobody decent in their right mind would come and slosh about in the bottom 6.

Lambert, as honest a manager as he is, is out of his depth.

Just insert in the new contract a clause that he needs to sign two creative midfielders this summer....and ban him from signing any more left backs and 6ft + lumps upfront.

See what he comes up with.

I'm also starting to think insisting someone else does the tactics might be a good idea, too.
