Congratulations on your victory - there's no complaints from me.

Absolutely fuming that we've bottled it, yet again, but fair play to Villa for a come back which caught our players seemingly by surprise.

Lambert will do you good, given time and funding.

Thanks , look forward to you visiting us again next year - if you stay up :)

If we persist with Lugano and Steven Reid then I have doubts about whether we will.

Never been so gutted leaving a ground. Still, such is football and days like this happen.

Why was Lugano playing ahead of McAuley? Steven Reid is a part time player nowadays - seems to have a good deal of media work.

I notice Neil Moxley in the Mail is referring to it as a "controversial penalty".

Shay Given on 5Live laughed and said "as a Villa fan it is a stonewall pen". Much mirth ensued and then he said it was "generous"

Controversial. Bollocks.

He had him in a headlock like Alan Partidge's Mad Stalking Fan, Jed.

Mel wanted to retain the back four that got a point against Everton.

Understandable but annoying when you see a side defend like that when your two best defenders are on the bench.

Great win, a real throwback to last season's roller coaster approach.  But Albion's defence is as bad as ours can be, and to an extent the win was despite our shortcomings rather than a sign we are overcoming them.   Vlaar played well but I'm still far from convinced by Clarke alongside him.  Bertrand -finally a fullback who can defend as well as attack.  I said ages ago that Lowton is slower than a slug and it really showed tonight.  Delph has turned into a fine footballer and it looks like Andi and Big Ben are starting to get their mojos back.  Again never been convinced by either KEA and Westood and again they gave the ball away for too easily and too often tonight.  With 27 points on the board we have a decent cushion from the drop zone, which hopefully will be maintained.

You didn't bottle it, we just beat you. You were 2-0 up with about 80% of the game to go so it was hardly gonna stay that score with defences as delicate as Villa and Albion's.

I couldn't follow the game on TV/stream  last night as I am a lazy teacher who only works three hours in the mornings. However, I did have my "futbol24" phone app which kept on buzzing and bonging as the Baggies were boinging and their crossbar was twanging. I watched the goals at the start of first lesson today and it was very satisfying. Did that c*** Anelka get a good booing before he went off?

Every time he touched the ball.

Which seemed to be about 4 times before he was clattered and slinked off.

I booed his every touch, and joined in with 'Nicolas Anelka, we know what you are!'

Did Lugano and Benteke have a bit of an off the ball set-two in the second half or did I imagine it?

Someone around said it looked like Lugano gave him a dig?

Thank you Liam, fair play to you and boy, do we know days like this happen. We would never have hung on to a two goal lead in a month of Sundays. In fact, had we scored twice in the first ten minutes, a 3-2 defeat or similar would almost have been guaranteed! I hope West Brom stay up as whilst I am Villa fan first and foremost, I am secondly a fan of midlands football. I save my hatred for jumped tossers like Chelsea. I certainly 'know what they are'

Oh yes we did. I was impressed with our supporters on that as I don't expect average football fan to be too bothered about that sort of thing.
Funny thing was as he limped off taking about an hour to leave the pitch looking as though he was about to die he couldn't wait for the tunnel barrier to be opened and jumped over it. Obviously he was "injured".

Local media were reporting he has six stitches to treat a wound on his knee.

You would have thought that he could have got stitched and then come back out.
