Gotta feel for the dutch guy in the speed skating, timing comes up on the board (2 decimal places) showing him as the gold medalist, then the official time comes through (3 decimal places) and demotes him to silver.  That is surely the definition of heartbreak.

I was watching that but the commentary is possibly the most moronic I've ever heard.

The commentary for the snowboard slopestyle final was embarrassing.  They've had complaints about it and said they'd had a word with the commentators.  Maybe not by the sounds of it.

I thought it was ok

Its a new event with a different set of competitors and a different language!

I can't say I understood most of it but the passion they had was great to hear

The moaners should just go and watch the babmington horse trials [or Small Heath]

Sorry but it was commentary in the same way FanZone on Sky is commentary.  Screaming in joy down the mic when a non-Brit competitor falls over isn't commentary.

And as for any of the following little gems - "She's got a face that could help bread rise"; "this feels like I've got slugs in my knickers"; "riding switch is like writing left-handed while wearing a chip hat and being attacked by seagulls", and "She's got the same birthday as me, so she's obviously very cool".  Come again?!

The two I heard today were like a posh Beavis & Butthead, they also seemed utterly clueless. It was moronic.

What's snobbish about wanting to hear intelligent, impartial, informed commentary of an international sporting event?  Most of the coverage I've seen so far has been embarrassing and inappropriate - the red button round-up seems to be like some sort of Clare Balding video diary.  We couldn't even see footage of the curling without endless cutaways to Clare in the crowd making concerned faces to camera and stating the bleeding obvious.  With all the trendy nonsense (snowboarding, FFS, with all those rails and stuff, that's not sport, it's shopping centre japes) and the inane presentation, it's like watching T4.  I keep expecting the bobsleigh to be interrupted so that Miquita can interview Scouting For Girls.  Just show the bloody sport, you bastards, and keep your tweeting pleas to a minimum.

I can't understand why they are showing snatches of the Winter Olympics on the Clare Balding Show? It's really odd how after sitting through her waffling on about nothing and trying to be hip and trendy and down with da kids on the snow sloop or some other trendy term, they actually then show some of the action. It's like the One Show meets the Winter Olympics.

Showing snatches now is it? The Balding Beaver show you say? That's great crack!

Jaysus, I might have a quick butcher's for the lewdness in it, so.

Watched a bit of the women's Curlers, where Scotland Britain lost to Canada. Was pretty exciting in the last end.
