Just looked at the format for the ice hockey tournament.

There are twelve teams in the Group Stage. The top twelve go through to the knock-out stages. How pointless is that?
Seedings.

Hardly the best way of building up the tension though is it knowing that even if you lose all your group games 10-0, you still go through?

I quite fancy a go on the Skeleton Winter event, or head first down the ice on a tea-tray as it should be called.

Wouldn't fancy going feet-first (Luge) as much though.

I would quite fancy a go on Amy Williams if that's an option.

GOLD! For Lizzy Yarnold in the skellington toboggan. Well done that woman.

I thought she won it on the third run, but it turns out the last one was the top time as well. If she hadn't have whacked the walls she would have won by over a second. But great work from Lizzie Yarnold, it was a brilliant competition from her.

As an aside, do you have to be beautiful to be a skeleton athlete? None will slot in above Amy Williams for me, but I haven't spotted any I would kick out of bed for eating crisps.

She looked kind of cute yesterday when she was inconsolable.

Why the hell did they put a jump into a slalom course ?

Not sure what you are saying?  Super-G is not slalom, it is downhill with gates.   They usually use a slightly shorter version of the downhill course.

Having been downgraded from Silver to 4th the other day, our Speed Skater got disqualified for not finishing today. All because the one foot was marginally over the sideline. I hope she wins Gold in the 1k because the officials seem to have it in for her. Someone should explain the concept of 'common sense' to them.

The fact Team GB didn't appeal suggests it's not that controversial. I'm sure that particular rule is there for a reason.

I agree with the second decision, she knew the rules before the start and should've concentrated. The first one seems harsh. Another lady seemed to make the initial contact, three of them got knocked over and only our girl got DQ'd. Watched it two or three times and can't see why she was penalised more than anyone else.

Super G is a slalom. "Super Giant Slalom".

A large number of the failures were because of a jump that, per the commentators, the competitors were not used to dealing with.

IMO, there's no need for Super-G. It seems a "false" event, neither a proper slalom or a proper downhill.
