Must admit I thought this was quite amusing:

http://www.thenational.ae/sport/english-premier-league/blue-bloods-of-birmingham-seeing-villans-claret?

The bit about mascots was good as well.

Right up until the bit about sepia tinged victories at the end, he was doing so well before his obsession with Villa really shone through.

I liked this line: Would it really be so hard to colour the moon blue?

Are any of their supporters capable of writing without mentioning eighties violence?

That's their glory days.

It's the only thing they've got to shout about, and this after the rest of society has moved on a bit.

They just never fail to show how they really feel about us do they. It's as though they are the only club to play in blue and white. Twats.

As for West Ham, they needn’t bother with anything: they have already got Birmingham Central Library.

Oh sorry, my mistake, that is Villa isn’t it? I always get those two mixed up. It must be the shared colour scheme. Or the smug supporters puffed up on sepia-tinged victories from the olden days.

Is the bit about getting us mixed up with West Ham supposed to upset us as easily as they get upset? As for territories and ownership of certain places in the city, if I organised a trip to the sty with every Villa fan I know we would outnumber them in their own ground these days. Still, it's not about going to games is it? It is about making sure certain pubs and snooker clubs are blue.

Now Tom Ross has weighed in on Twitter.

'Do u think the council are right to support 1 team when they have more than 1 team in the area? IMO it's wrong be it Baggies Villa Blues or Wolves'.
Support? I am sure we have funded this promotion. Something that Blues can't do and Albion wouldn't know how to do. And oh yes Wolves....that's a completely different town arsehole.

Albion are Sandwell which is a completely different council as well. You'd think Ross would know that before spouting off more shite.

The rags were more than happy to be in bed with the council when they were going to build their 300k super, mega stadium that still not going to be big enough.
They didn't mind a bit of favouritism then.

If my seven year old daughter threw as many tantrums as the noses and Albion fans I would be embarrassed.

I think if this was an April Fool it would have been a good one - the fact that it's true makes it pure genius and the reaction has been hilarious - it has even got to a couple of what I considered 'normal' bluenoses I work with (normal in the sense they are usually self-deprecating about their place in the order of things).
Well done Mr Faulkner and all concerned.

They haven't got anything better to have a tizzy over. It's not as if one of them is managerless and the other is going into administration is it?

Can't believe these muppets are still harping on about this.  Have they nothing else to worry about (such as, I dunno, administration?) in their sad little lives?

Hark at this tit on the Mail website:

Quote
And Jason Ward posted: “I thought Aston was down the road? How can it be good for Birmingham when you have alienated two thirds of Birmingham residents?

‘‘Surely the council should share the colours of all the Birmingham clubs including Baggies, Blues and Villa?”

They have done, mate.  Blue at the top representing your lot, claret in the middle for us, and blue at the bottom for Smethwick.
