Chris, I'm one of Faulkner's supporters on many things and I think this is brilliant by him and the PR team at Villa. I'm joking massively :)
Oh fuck it then, sack him!

Only joking. ;)

Could you imagine a proper writer such as Leon Hickman or Ian Willars spending their time on such trivia? Could you imagine their editors letting them?

The Mail's glory days are firmly in the past.

So are all local newspapers, to be honest. It must be difficult for them, jockeying around for a new status and role in the digital world.

I'm no expert - but surely local papers should be about being 'local' more than anything else? Now that they syndicate more and more of the news feeds, the news becomes less and less local. And people stop buying it as a result. Hence the death spiral.

As for the library - nice touch. Plus if it hacks off the oi polloi, then even better.

Just came across a Q&A with Chris Lepkowski.

Quote
First Albion game I saw was a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn in 1987. First-ever match I saw was Villa 1, Norwich 4 in autumn 1986. I was stood in the away end that day - though I have no allegiance whatsoever to Norwich.

You couldn't make it up. I'll bet he wildly celebrated those four Norwich goals.

He writes more about the Villa than the Albion. Well that's a surprise isn't it?

The Mail coverage of villa has gone downhill since Rob Bishop left.
Oh and the library looks awesome.

Another piece in today's Mail on the uproar from Noses regarding the library link up with the Villa. Some of the comments from them are hilarious. I doubt there's another club in the country who despise their neighbours as much as the Sty lot hate us.
Backhanded compliments and all that....

Now Tom Ross has weighed in on Twitter.

'Do u think the council are right to support 1 team when they have more than 1 team in the area? IMO it's wrong be it Baggies Villa Blues or Wolves'.

Erm... what do Birmingham council have to do with Wolverhampton Wanderers? Isn't Wolverhampton a city in its own right, complete with it's own council?

I bet he couldn't believe his luck when Steve Hodge put them on their way with that gash back-pass to Kevin Poole.

Not exclusive to the Albion though - IIRC a few on here have had happy afternoons at SHA and have cheered the opposition.

Not before we'd ever been to Villa Park.

Must admit I thought this was quite amusing:

http://www.thenational.ae/sport/english-premier-league/blue-bloods-of-birmingham-seeing-villans-claret?

The bit about mascots was good as well.
