The only thing Randy is watching is the balance sheet. Man U at home, biggest crowd of the season, on the tv= kerrching. Wages are down Premier league money is up,  so the football is crap, let them moan just as long as they keep paying. This is the Aston Villa franchise. Weren't we told success is the deloitte top 20. I bet Villa will have a bigger revenue this season than ever. There's your modern success.

Lerner stopped caring once he realised it's harder to break into the top 4 than he thought. I think we're stuck with mid table ( that's if we achieve that ever) obscurity for a long time until the guy up top has a change of heart.

I don't really blame Lambert for everything. It must be tough working under financial restrictions with fee and wages but then I look at Swansea, Southampton and Everton who have spent a lot less than us over the few seasons but play with a vigour, freshness and style of football now not yesteryear.

I look at the resigning of Guzan a positive, Benteke a positive, Okore a positive and maybe Vlaar, but I have to say that's about it for me. Luna, Bennett, Lowton, Westwood, KEA, Tonev, Bowery, Bacuna so far have definitely not been and don't look like being good enough at this standard. Helenius and Kozak I still have to make my mind up about, but 8 poor signings out of 12-14 isn't great is it?

I guess we just have to put up with it and wait and see what happens but I feel its going to take decades for Villa to even get anywhere near European football again unless its luckily through a cup win.

I don't know of other league teams Legion.

I pity the diehards in the North stand, all they've seen is the opposition scoring infront of them this season.

No wonder Saunders_Heroes is always on suicide watch on here. ;)

I sit in the North Stand as well. Bloody nightmare.

The problem wth the north stand is that it combines dreadfully impaired leg room, guaranteeing no physical comfort for 90 minutes, with an infuriatingly decent view of the pitch, and the grimness which inevitably unfolds there.

That's it in a nutshell. The view is fantastic. A perfect view of just how awful we are.

I gave up going after last season, a combination of abysmal home form, players with little regard for the club, and the fucking ludicrous kick off times made up my mind. This was before considering that some of these players 'earn' in a week what I do in a year.
I now watch Halesowen Town, my nipper gets in free, the money I contribute makes a big difference to the club, I can stand with a pint and watch a game and they kick off every week at 3pm. The players run their knackers off week after week. It's like how football used to be, and how it should be. I love Villa, always will but I hate the fact at Villa I was a customer, at Halesowen I'm a fan.

The home form is not acceptable. It can't carry on. I fear it will. I'm sick of it, but I've resigned myself to it.

Sorry to repeat what I've written on the post-match thread, but it's the way I feel right now.

As a ST holder, I’m pissed off: having supported Lambert’s candidature as manager and welcomed his appointment, I’m at a point where I think he has reached a bit of an impasse. Today we faced a Utd team which could have been taken down by a side with energy, passion and verve. Instead, we saw a team that proved to be every bit as flaky as other Villa sides of the last three years. Luna, Sylla and Baker were, simply, hopeless. All three made mistakes that turned into goals for a side that was not particularly threatening otherwise.

Along with Luna, Sylla and Baker, KEA is not a Premiership player. Furthermore, Benteke is going through what seems to be a nightmare of a self-confidence crisis. And the ball retention of this team is awful.

Taken all into account Lambert really does not seem to know what to do about it all: his tactical options are limited; his substitutions are too little too late; his half-time talks seemingly ineffectual. The choice of MF seems to me to be critical in top-class footie these days: today, we saw a poor Sylla and a limited KEA team up, with Gardner and Bacuna on the bench. I said before the game, I’d love to have seen the youthful and technically-capable Bacuna and GG play as a breath of fresh air, alongside Westie. Lambert stuck with the tried and tested … but ultimately fallible.

Let’s hope Vlaar and Delph make the difference we need them to, otherwise we’re knackered this season.

And we need to make some astute January acquisitions - not "another one for the future" or "from the bargin-basement department". Everton, whom I thought might have struggled this season, pulled two fantastic season-long loans out of the bag and are prospering - any chance of Lambert doing this?? - nah, thought not.

Tell you what Barry as a holding midfielder protecting the defence would have made a huge difference !!

Yeah. Ronaldo would've been useful too. Unfortunately we can't force players to sign for us.

Turned down the opportunity to have Barry on loan didn't we?

Stainrod could definitely fill a Villa shirt, were you there when he tried to dive for a penalty in front of the Holte? now that was desperate.

I saw Stainrod score 4 on his debut against Exeter so I will always have a soft spot for him.
As I've said elsewhere we need to sort home form/entertainment out. Its an absolute disgrace.
If were going down this route for the long term we can't keep alienating our 'customers'.

I went to loads of shite games in the 80s watching the talents of David Hunt , Mark Lillis , Bernie Gallaher and Carl Tiler etc . Having fun at Oldham in the cup and all those Simod games I went , I remember this shite one against Boro on a rainy night , could have been a semi actually , I think thats what it was  called but you know , I never thought it was expensive then , I paid the money , got the programme , gave the car watchers a few quid and really enjoyed it with my mates to be fair  but today fuck me , its expensive and Im not going to keep paying out for me and the lad to watch that shite every home game .

we havent seen a goal yet   - oh I lied , Newcastle at home I did .

I understand JP, I can't talk as I only get to 2 or 3 home games a season, I'm trying to point out tho that we aren't, after last season, suddenly look like a top 10 team. Just have to take solace in the signs of improvement, better points, more clean sheets, nae hammerings (YET).

We have a number of out of form players it seems to have been all season in some cases.. I'm waiting for Lambert to turn these players round.
The longer the season goes on the less optimistic I am that it is going to happen.
I'm not saying sack him by any means but managers get sacked for less.
