When they did that ridiculous competition at half time and announced that one of the prizes was a five year season ticket

I've had a night to sleep on this.

Decent performances and results in the next 4 games and he'll have bought himself a bit more time to convince me that this "project" is something other than the emperor's new clothes. Load of rubbish yesterday, same at Fulham the week before. Even if he's not sacked, is someone going to stand up and tell him this is unacceptable? The only reason he can point to some improvement over the same period last year was simply because we were so absolutely shit last year that it would be harder to not improve on it. Is that the best we can say about ourselves at the moment?

The frustrating part is we have it within ourselves to be playing much better but the signs have been there for months now. We've been playing terribly. When you play terrible and pick up results the issue isn't so much of a red flag, but now the results aren't going our way. We're now seeing the inevitable side of playing piss poorly. If you do, you're going to lose most of your games.

Lamberts got to do something. He always seems like a late reactor. Hopefully he never gets to a stage where his reaction is too little too late. We're that bad at the moment, if we play like this for the next dozen games I can see us going a dozen without a win. So I'm hoping he's doing some bloody hard work on the training pitch and maybe a few Witch doctors in desperately trying to fix Concrete Ron.

How much more can we bear?  Our home form has been disgraceful for seasons now with regular beatings from all comers.  We are like street fighters, the beatings hurt at first but the more of them you get they become the norm. So, we can take a bit more before we're damaged beyond repair unless something changes dramatically.

I'm bringing the wife and kids along with me on Boxing Day for a family day out. Oh dear, what have I done? I've ruined Christmas.

I don't mind losing to a better side but it's just bloody dreadful to watch and we aren't even giving it a go.

We're 11th in the league. That will do for me in May.

Sadly the season doesn't end today, Lee. Forget midtable, we're a bottom half side in a piss poor league.

We have four relatively 'winnable' matches coming up.
Fulham was supposed to be winnable...

It's only the finance that  has stopped me going.

The next few games are very important, if I don't see an improvement in performance my faith in Lambert will disappear pretty quickly.

And Sunderland. We were lucky to get a point out of that too.

and we were supposed to be slaughtered by Arsenal and Man City.

Most expected nothing from Southampton

That's what you get from a team like ours.

Win some lose some.

I don't see how we can expect free flowing football with the players and resources at Lamberts disposal.

So far we have lost to Liverpool Newcastle Spurs Everton and Man United at home. Yes its extremely disappointing but it ain't the end of the world just yet. Taking into account our victory against Man City we have now had 6 of what is likely to be the top 8 sides visit VP.

I'm pretty confident that the remainder of our home season will see a few more victories but don't expect to be entertained to any great extent.
