December 15th, 1976: Aston Villa 5-1 Liverpool! What a night! The remarkable thing was all the goals being scored in the first-half. Brian Little's brilliant curler being the pick of the bunch. Your memories of that magical night.....

I was in the Trinity Road end and it was a magical night. Most exciting Villa team I have ever seen. Looked forward to watching the goals on ATV the following day, but they had decided to go to Derby for Derek Hales debut v Arsenal. That game finished 0-0

I was down the Witton End where I always went and we got all the goals!  I distinctly remember us hitting the bar in the second half, Mortimer IIRC.  What a story that would have been, six against the team of the day.

4-0 up after about 20mins and Keegan booked for dissent!  Ray Kennedy scored for them I think. Wonderful performance.

Before my time as regards going to games but I believe Gary Newbon loves being reminded of that night.

On the Holte .A great night. Amongst our number one lad who we had convinced to go to his first ever football match. It remains the only game he's ever been to!

Given the quality of the opposition - Liverpool were the best team in England and were only six months away from winning the European Cup for the first time - that first half must rank as the best I've seen in my 45 years of watching Villa. In terms of sheer excitement and entertainment, the 1976 team was my favourite Villa team. Little, Gray and Deehan up front were an unstoppable force.

My first game was 1979 and the opponents and score were exactly the same as the last game I went to. Villa 0 Manchester United 3.

My first game, and I have no memory of it whatsoever...

I remember the ball bouncing along their crossbar in the second half and the sitting on the Holte terrace stunned at half-time but little else (and I was sober)

At last, someone else who remembers us hitting the bar.  I was beginning to think I dreamt it.
