That night was the equivalent of us beating the Barcelona team of today liverpool were not only the best team in England but Europe to. We simply destroyed them was on the Holte that night watching andy gray unplayable Brian little world class and my all time favourite villa player Alex cropley(think Steven Gerard in his prime in a villa shirt) then that is what Alex Cropley was and john gidman at right back I could go on and on

37 years, god don't time fly! I was there that night and lucky enough to be in the Witton end where we scored all the goals . I can picture the goals now as if it was yesterday.Other vivid memories of that night, are Ray Clemence,Emlyn Hughes and Phil Thompson all arguing  with each other as the goals went in .Also i remember reading the following day  that Liverpool fans all over the world were ringing up the news desks of the papers in disbelief , to check the half time score was correct

I never know whether to boast about being at this game because I think it makes me sound like one of the 100,000 people who apparently saw The Pistols at the 100 Club!
But I was there and it was the day I realised that Brian Little was the greatest player I would ever see.
