The absolute best thing about Lescott was that he had a good scoring record against us, and would always make a point of really over the top celebrations in front of our fans.

Right up to the day he scored their equaliser to make it 2-2 at Goodison, only for Ashley Young to then make him look a total fucking mug, run up the other end of the pitch and make it 3-2 with the last kick of the game.

What a great match that was.

I was with Bryan Hughes tonight (ex blues) really nice bloke, spoke very highly of Villa park and he is a lifelong Everton fan, and he said to me the one thing he wanted to do was score at Goodison and celebrate scoring.....

There were some great days in the mon era and the win at goodison and the way we got it was right up there - to go from desolation to elation in the space of a minute was fantastic - I will never forget that feeling .

My take on Collymore is

- he's definitely a Villa fan, and the more of them there are in the media, the better
- we didn't get anything like the best out of him
- we used to give him plenty of stick, I'm not surprised he reacted
- he's had his problems and continues to struggle with them, had our manager at the time been a bit more enlightened, maybe we'd have got more out of him
- he's not a bad broadcaster at all.
