He's on £116k per week. Everton are signing him permanently in jan not sure on wage but he's probably taking a pay cut for a 3 or 4 year deal.

If he doesn't get the money he wants, I suppose he could always go crying to the Sunday papers.

You're probably right, but he's still better than any of our midfielders even now. He'd walk back into out team and be our best player other than Benteke, in my opinion.
Sadly it's not gonna happen though.

What have you seen In Westwood that makes you think he could be the next Barry? His delivery is shit, he's possibly as slow as fat arse, can't pick a forward pass like Barry can, is much more light weight than Barry and doesn't offer anything in the final third.

A fair assessment and it would have us ahead of where we were same point last year. Weren't we on 18 points after 20 games last season?

Edit: and 23 points after 20 games in the TSM year. So November and December are the crucial months. You'd like to see us getting about 14-15 points minimum from the next 11 games to show that we are making progress at last. Our next 11 games actually look very promising. United are the only 'top' side we have in the next eleven. With teams like Palace, Fulham, Stoke, Sunderland twice and Swansea. Next eleven games are quite important actually.

I expect someone to shoot me down here, but what the hell: he shouldn't have signed Kozak instead of another attacking midfielder. I know he wanted both, but we're clearly operating within a budget and £7m is a fat wad of that. It's been argued that he couldn't get the deal he wanted on an attacking midfielder, but if we didn't sign Kozak and pooled the £7m with the attacking midfielder money we could have surely signed a really top class playmaker. As it is, we have Kozak (who I do like) and no playmaker - ie, he opted for the backup bigman striker instead of a first XI player. I still support Lambert, but he's made a mistake.

We picked up last season when Gabby came back and our front three were firing on all cylinders. At the moment Gabby and Weimann aren't playing well but they still carry more of a goal threat than the alternatives.

thats the thing thou . Lambert has not bought better quality than whta we had , and thats what he should have been doing , not more cheap squad fillers.

Lambert has had to build a squad with £40 million. Only Luna and Bacuna have had a chance thus far, with Okre unfortunately being out for the year.

Whether Lambert intends to go back in January for his midfielder, I don't know, but he had to build a squad and within the budgetry constraints of the club. Next season will be different with a chance to spend £20 odd million on two or three players.

Thought Delph, Bacuna, Vlaar and Guzan had a good game. The rest were below average and this is our problem. PL has gambled on unknown players and they will take time to adapt and progress with the speed and demands of the prem. I would like to see Delph behind the forwards as he has the pace and trickery to get in the box where he will be a threat. Everton were not that much better than us before that second goal and the pen and two chances have already been discussed .......

As someone mentioned in the pub yesterday... we don't have a single player in the squad that has played Premiership football for anybody other than us. That lack of experience is really telling at times.
