took my wife to Charlton away when Parker played us off the park on his own...around 2003 ? if I remember right....

she said the Villa look nice in their uniform....not been back !

Think I was at that one, we lost 3-0 and Parker was brilliant.

It took us ages to find the ground (and 48 different types of transport) as well. Also, my brother had his hair spray confiscated before the game by stewards, this was when he had a Sid Vicious type haircut.

we were in the stand to the left as you look from the away end, we only decided to go last minute.

she jumped up everytime they scored...as she did not want any "bother"...I just sat there thoroughly pissed off...we went back to London Bridge (if I remember right) and I took her to a lovely little Mexican restaurant down Covent Garden....fecking expensive day and we lost !

I got my own back tho...I married her !  ;D

I've taken all my serious women down VP at some stage. None liked football but I still made them come with me a few times. Most enjoyed it, saying it was very different being there compared to watching it on TV.

Took my girlfriend, a Geordie, to the Newcastle game.

Urgh.

As far as the Villa stands, my Mrs has gone down many times. And enjoyed it.

I even took her up the Arsenal once.

Which was nice.

In almost 30 years I have only taken a woman to the Villa once. We won 7-0.

Maybe I should do it more.

Brought my missus along to the 2011 home FA Cup clash with Blackburn when Pires scored his one and only Villa goal, she well and truly hooked before and the game was just the icing on the cake.

My wife's first match was Forest 6 Villa 0 in 1986. Never mind putting her off the Villa, it's amazing that she is still with me. She likes the idea of a VIP package at VP and we're eying up the Swansea match at Christmas. Pricey sport is her fave - she competes in horse riding. Not great for my bank balance.

I took my girlfriend to watch Villa play QPR. Trevor Francis scored a hat-trick.

The relationship was doomed to failure.

My wife loves it. Her first game was the Everton 3-3 draw back in 2009 iirc.

BUT...

- I can't wear a footy top if we're not in walking distance of the ground as she thinks it's chavvy. If you can't wear them on match days, when can you?
- The pre-match booze is cut to a minimum.
- And I can't travel to the Villa on me own or friends anymore. She thinks it's just an excuse to get plastered.

Poor old me.

Disaster... my bird still brings up my behaviour in arguments when I took her to an away game 3-4 years ago.

To be fair I've seen the state of you at a couple of away games, I'm not surpised  ;D

Even though I know she doesn't really care, it doesn't stop me moaning/gloating the moment I walk through the door after the game. I know she's not listening, but I tell her anyway!

Before we got married my ex wife came with me to Albion away. When a couple of half house-bricks were lobbed over the train from the opposite platform as our train back to civilisation arrived she was put off forever. Only time I've ever been grateful to Albion fans.
