I am suspicious that this injury as come at the same time as the release of GTA V.

Coincidence? I think not.

And FIFA14

He's planned a bit of goal scoring and brothel shooting-up

The papers are trying to make a big deal out of this, from what I read the Belgium doctor seemed like he wanted to work with Villa on the matter.

It does look as if they're trying to turn it into a club v country row. I'm sure it'll be nothing of the sort.

The press like to create a stir - they need stories to sell papers and like to exaggerate - however in nurseys defence he has written a lovely piece about brad which I have copied into the Guzan thread .
Maybe old james is getting over our beating of his beloved Norwich :)

You've just nailed Nursey there.  He is a weasel of the highest order and tries to play football supporters like a violin.  Even in one article he can seem to be buttering a player/manager/club up when, what he is actually doing, is sticking the knife in.  I genuinely wouldn't let him within a million miles of Villa Park as his main aim is to sow disharmony.

So Belgium need one point to qualify, from 2 games, one of which is at home to Wales. Surely they could mange that without troubling Beteke, it's not like they don't have a decent squad to choose from.

I should think Belgium just want to keep Benteke integrated as part of the squad. Even if he doesn't play it's good for the squad harmony during final prep for Brazil where they have a decent outside chance I think.

All Belgium have to do is to play Lukaku. They should want to act in Benteke's best interests.

This is where Lambert needs to do a Fergie and show who is the boss.

I'm sure I read that Lambert was quite pally with Wilmots, the Belgium manager, so I doubt there's any issue.

Gary Wilmots?

It is the Belgian manager's nickname due to the fact the only impression he can do is Errol Brown.

And credit where it is due for not milking it dry. "Boiled beef and carrots, boiled beef and carrots..."

Paul Lambert says he's relaxed about Christan Benteke being called up by Belgium for the two World Cup qualifiers even though he's unfit for his club for at least the next fortnight.

Lambert has spoken to the Belgium manager Marc Willmotts and says there's no problem about Benteke's call-up even though he's still hampered by a hip injury.

"The various physios have spoken to each other and there's no issue between us. I know the country has the right to have their player when they're together before an international so that's it. I worry about every one of my players & injuries when they're away for their countries," Lambert said

I can see it now, Belgium force the issue and he plays, aggravates his hip injury and misses the Tottenham game on the 20th October......!
