Get the fuck in there!

A really ragged game second half, but we should have been two or three up in the first half. KEA played well as did young Clacker who really brought some physicality to the game.

Never a penalty in my view, but the Goose stepped up as usual and then with a fine save in the second half. The way we headed away and dealt with their endless long punts into the box was admirable.

Great to see us grind it out. The new boys need more games to blend in, although Bacuna did well and has an excellent corner on him.

Get in Villa! Well worth the early start.

The 2nd half was torture to watch, I couldn't quite believe we held on. Against better than Norwich we would have been battered as our retention of the ball is woeful. Tonev should have been off at half time. He's clearly not up to the pace of this league. Luna was quite good going forward but poor denfincevly. KEA. Vlaar, Clark and Guzan played well as did Gabby while he was out there.

Agreed, Bren. Second half reminded me why I hated watching us under MON. We needed the 3 points more than a good performance but it would have been nice to have had both, especially against a team that will be in the bottom 6 or 7 all season.
As others have mentioned, based on today's performance, Bacuna looks like he'll keep Lowton out the side.

Oh and happy birthday, JP.

Great result. But we are really lacking quality all over the pitch. Our ball retention was poor and distribution just has bad. I am just going to enjoy the weekend with a clean sheet now on the board ..........

O
These early kick offs are nice when you win. Job done, relax.
Agreed. Now I will really enjoy watching and having a larrrrf for the rest of the weekend.

My bro is getting married this afternoon. He'll enjoy the day even more now as will I!

At least he knows he'll score today, but will he keep a clean sheet?
Hahehehe... You know there is no chance of that!

great to see Kozak pointing to where he wanted the ball in the build up for the goal, makes the midfielders work a lot easier

a good omen I think

He made couple of well-timed smart runs like at the prelude to the goal.
Got a couple of "Welcome the Premier League" tackles from the defenders but looks tough enough to adjust with some more games.
The goal will go a long way to boost his confidence hopefully.

MANAGER REACTION: Norwich 0-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert: (on the injury to Christian Benteke) "The medical staff reckon it's his hip flexor. Hopefully it's not too bad. But Libor Kozak came on and scored within 90 seconds which shows he'll endear himself to the crowd."

Paul was good on BT except when asked if he considered Villa were unlucky against Chelsea and Liverpool. His reply "well you know how it is against big clubs..." Sorry Paul that will not do.

@MatKendrick: "We kept a clean sheet, we kept a clean sheet, how shit must you be, we kept a clean sheet," chant the #avfc fans

Class.

I started that. I kept thinking I should start before the final whistle bit didn't want to anger the footballing Gods.

Thankful for the 3 points, but poor performance.
Lumping the ball from defense to attack and cutting out the midfield isn't great entertainment.
Lost the ball way to much, poor passing, but that's expected when trying to run around at 100 mph all game.
Big loss with Tekkers out.
Weimann full of running, to greedy in front of goal, needs to look up and see his teamates.
Tonev very poor, Luna getting beaten way to much.

Guzan was outstanding and 3 points owed to him.
Kozak could be a good player for us, not a Benteke, but could compliment him well.

Oh, and I hope someone has a word with Luna and Kojak re there rolling around. A little embarrassing for both.

Thought KEA was very good. MOM Guzan, Clarke not far behind.

Good for Kozak. Looks like he has a good first touch and worked his balls off.

I also thought that KEA and Clark were both terrific as well, and Guzan might be the best keeper in the league.

Some good solid performances  some today, obviously Guzan was class, but Clark,Bacuna,Delph,KEA and Gab before he went off. Hope Tonev just had an off day, as some of his passing was poor and lazy and could have cost us, but fcuk a clean sheet and a win was well needed. UTV
