The clean sheet is vital, plus if Clark plays like that we'll be ok. He was excellent.

I thought Clark's reading of the game was superb.

Still nearly scored an oggy though!

Decent performance, any win away from home is good. Norwich look really poor.

I was impressed by our left side  Luna, Weimann, KEA all played well-ish. Guzan immense.
I'll have a pint of what noodles is on. Luna ripped apart...to be fair he didn't bottle it. Weiman nah not today but KEA was decent today and i ain't a fan.
Michael Owen gave Guzan MOM and i can see the point - pen save, great save plus crosses dealt with but for me MOM was Ciaran Clarke he threw his body into everything.
Also Bacuna outstanding!!!!

10th for a few hours anyway!!!

Huh? Luna was slaughtered by Snodgrass.

Luna was up against Snodgrass and Martin overlapping, he did well. Obviously Weimann stayed high up the pitch which meant the lacked cover. He did well defensively.

Yeah but that was more down to Luna.

Superb. We. Showed so much heart and spirit today. Obviously massively worried about Benteke, so hopefuly it isn't more than a bad pull. That said it is why we bought Helenius and more specifically Kozak.

I know a couple of the lads had poor games, particularly Tonev. Let's not forget that Bacuna had a bit of a mare against Liverpool and was very good today. Let's not be too harsh on them as they acclimatise themselves to a new country and to the demands of the PL.

Can't afford Benteke being out longer than a game really.

Oh, and if there's a better 'keeper than Brad in the country right now, I've yet to see him. Another flawless display.

That was a battle! A lot of adversity there - three injuries if you include Westwood. The penalty. The monkey on our back of no clean sheets.

We looked pretty shit at times though. Defensively down the left all game. And going fwd in the second. I'd order the players in the following way:

Guzan - Clark - bacuna - gabby

Then a gap then: Delph - KEA - vlaar - Weimann

Then kozak - benteke - helenius - sylla -

then a gap.

Then a further gap

Then: Luna - Tonev

Well put, but too kind to Andi.

Win. Clean sheet. Happy Days. Hope Benteke isn't out for long. Fair play for the battling qualities shown.

A clean sheet and an invaluable 3 points. We still look really vulnerable round the left back area and I don't think it's a co-incidence that both Newcastle & Norwich targeted us there. Haven't followed the match thread today as I had my laptop hooked up to the TV to watch on BT Sport, but I seem to be in a minority of 1 who thought it was a penalty (even Mark Halsey said it shouldn't have been given). Guzan immense yet again. Good battling performance by most of the team but some of our passing in the second half was sloppy, and we missed Gabby as an out-ball to relieve pressure. Tonev was disappointing.

Wish referees would book players like Redmond who wave imaginary cards trying to get opposition players booked.

My real concern is we've lost our 2 best outfield players to injury in less than a week. Any news on Benteke?

Tonev needs to massively change his game, he can't shoot all the time.
