Isn't the "size" of the West Midlands clubs in this order...

Villa
Wolves
Baggies
Blose
Walsall

...that's how I've always seen it anyway.

You forgot Coventry, insignificant I know but they're West Midlands.

Except for when they were based in Northamptonshire. ;)

I think every caller other than a Walsall one talked about the Villa again tonight. Absolutely hilarious stuff.

I'd forgotten about the following moron until i heard him on tonight's show - phil the doghead from wednesbury. He is definitely their version of eddie/polly/pete.....even villa alan, yeah ?
What gets on my norks about phil is that he is quite obviously not a youngster but is so petty and likes a good ol whinge about.......yes,  you've guessed right.....villa.

I'd be interested to know the percentage of other teams' fans that call in and don't mention the V word at all.

I doubt it would be that high.

When I was growing up I lost count of how often my bluenose uncle reminded me that Villa had been in the third division and Small Heath never had been. It was his favourite football fact. Until 1989.

Q: What do Blose, Baggies, Wolves and Villa fans all have in common?
A: They all can't stop talking about the Villa.

It was always the Big Six results shown on the front page of The Argus. One or two pages dedicated news for each of the Six inside.

Derby are much bigger than the stripey shit.

I've had to stop listening to WM. I cannot abear it any longer. I got home in a foul mood the other night because I listened to it for an hour. It's just clear anti-Villa drivel with complete bellends calling in to constantly harp on about us.

Pete the nose tonight, bless him - "I know why Jack Grealish is always diving, his grandad was a submarine commander, dive dive dive, it's in the blood".  He did actually say something about his own team though to be fair to the cnut.

On the SHA forum they've even started a "Can Solomon Rondon take part in the play offs ?" thread.

Now that is obsession taken to a whole new and desperate level.

As for that erdo nose's comment, i bet it was met with tumbleweed. He must've really worked that one brain cell hard to think of that gem.

Then again, he IS in his 60's.

Son.

After the match show (Franks was actually dismissive of some of the deadhead stripeyshite callers) there was a show hosted by a Walsall fan called Chris Blakemore (I think that was his name) and he was playing music, and also kept taking calls. He was an absolute breath of fresh air. He'd make the perfect host going forwards, there was none of this tittle-tattle that there usually is, and shit stirring, just good, honest comment and calls.
