1-2 Liverpool

Half tempted to agree with you ozz.

Sturridge and Coutinho will cause our back 4 all sorts of problems, both are excellent players imo.

That said I can't see us losing if we score first today, unlike in March.

We need to get really tight and make sure coutinho has two men around him as much as possible. KEA has been really good. But Sylla could play that role really well, supporting Lowton.

I also think Okore looks suited to dealing with the trickery and pace of Sturridge.

I think Tonev could create havoc with his corners. And gabby could give Johnson problems.

Looking forward to this one, though in expecting a really tough game that we could win or lose easily. I'd probably make Liverpool slight favourites given their likely freshness.

I hope hubris and complacency don't get the better of us today, fans and players alike.

Football Focus itinerary: 1) Mignolet interview, 2) 20 minutes' feature on Manchester United, 3) Mention Manchester United repeatedly, 4) 10 minute feature placing the game in a poor light e.g. refereeing decisions, touchline argy bargy, Mourinho mischief, 5) No more than once per season, feature one of the other PL clubs, 6) finish with a Manchester United clip. Repeat weekly August until May.

Villa are 3-1 with the bookies..............very tempting.

I just got 7/2

Crazy pricing.

10/3 w/ William Hill. 10 returns 43.33... worth a tenner? I do think we'll win ftr.

I'm really looking forward to everything about today. Can't wait to get there.

We look so confident at the moment I reckon we can win this. My worry is that when I'm in this frame of mind the end result is normally a big let down!

..anyway, come on you Villa boys!!

I think we've shown that we're a threat away from home but will it be different at Villa Park?  This is going to be a very interesting game.  I think it will be very tough but I have a feeling we'll just nick it 2-1.  Not conceding another early goal might well be crucial.

 Whats the expected Lplop team?

Apart from Sturridge and Coutinhio i can't think of too many good players they have, certainly none in the CB class.Gerrard has gone, and Henderson will never get there.Delph and KEA should be able to cope with Coutinhio and Ipso, not sure Agger can cope with CB.

 7/2 . i'm even more tempted.

How come everyone we bloody play their main threat has his best record against the Villa!

Because we've been a bleedin' soft touch for a number of years; until we tighten up in defence, we'll continue to be! I love the football that Lambert is trying to inspire but I also believe that the road to recovery has to start at the back, by being difficult to score against.
