Not sure that's any relevance other than to say , the club was very unstable, CEO meeting potential new manager whilst incumbent and team was floundering spectacularly .

Just to pick a bit of your post, maybe make "Not sure that's any relevance" your signature just to save time in future?

1000% agree with this.

He's right.
On his opinions about Delph and Villa, probably.

But if somebody who writes about football for a living gets a fact like "it was being told – erroneously, it transpired – Luis Suarez had a £40m get-out clause that triggered one of Arsenal’s less edifying moments in recent history" wrong, I'm reluctant to take his views on things too seriously.

Ironically its spot on relevant. The club has been a joke for a while . Our CEO has had a troubled time so far, partly in his own failings .

He's right.
Article is spot on.
We acted like a weak sheep allowing this .

Tell us what we should have done then.
With such a limp sell on clause I'd have sent him packing.

Of course you would. You'd have let him go for nothing then slagged yourself for doing it,.

"I'd have written off around seven million pounds just to prove a point".

I take it you're not in any job where you control the finances?

Fair enough, but that money has pretty much paid for Gueye so its not completely to be sniffed at.

If your brain can stretch far enough, how much brand damage do you think we have taken this last 72 hours ? Scope being potential incoming starlets ? Outgoings, ST sales .

None whatsoever judging by what happened today, but don't let a small thing like fact get in your way.

I can't agree with the article at all. It's self evident that Delphs intention was always to walk away. £8 million is likely more than we'd have got in January and we needed all the good players we had. You can criticse the club for buying into the lie with the fanfare, but you can't criticse Fox form salvaging what we could from a bad hand. The horse had bolted, financially we did as well as we could.

This would have had a bit more sway had we not just signed a highly-rated young player for around £10m. Presumably the "brand" is holding up alright so that this still happened.
