Not only was Steve Hodge a better man than Fabian Delph, he was also a better footballer and a greater loss.

Now there's a sentence I thought I'd never write.

That's true. I think what was forgotten about Hodge over the years is that he was actually a bloody good player, and far better than Delph (in my opinion). The only worry is that Hodge left a sinking ship. I just hope history doesn't repeat itself this time around.
Open that chequebook, Lerner.

I remain pissed off at the massive loyalty statement when he had such a low release clause, but although the dragging it out for a week has made it FEEL worse, I don't think it is worse. The damage was done in January, not in the last week. The last week is merely a fiasco, not the real crime,

The last week's shenanigans is coming over to me as a player who cares a bit too much what people think of him. Last week he didn't want us to think he was a scumbag and stayed, then the whole media went into a spin about him being a player with no bottle, not prepared to fight for his place, too much of a coward to test himself at a higher level, a lazy player who is happy in his comfort zone. I think we were angry at the unfairness of those statements about him, so I guess they would have stung him too. As the week wore on, he was damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

The phrase that came into my head last night as I was dropping of to sleep was 'Better to regret something you have done than something you haven't done' - and I think his final decision landed somewhere there. When I think of it logically, the last week is the bit where he hesitated to go, rather than had his bags packed ready, I am still angry with him, but less so, not more so, for the weird final week.

In time honoured H&V fashion, Amfy has expressed the way I feel about Delph and the saga of the last week better than I did.

I respect your views Amfy and Olof's, but I think you're both completely wrong. Last week's statement, plus his statement on joining Citeh just highlight what a duplicitous snake he is.

Like I said it my first post, I expected to be alone!  I am sure he regrets speaking last weekend before he had resolved the internal conflicts (and let's not forget he has a massive life event going on at the moment as well) because it has made him look like an idiot and will draw a lot of criticism, as well as making his early days at Shitty even more greatly pressured.  He just seems guilty of struggling to make a decision to me, unlike previous players who have gone to the papers to force moves, stopped playing in actual matches or just packed up their trumpets before they have even signed.  Those are all worse for me.

But whatever, zero goals, three assists is not exactly impossible to replace.  Great player, especially for where we are now but miles away from being irreplaceable, unlike Benteke.

I'd give up mate, your banging your head against a brick wall

I don't disagree with some of your thoughts, but there are to manny haters now, it makes people feel better if they can hate someone for there own personal disappointments it's one of the foundation bricks in human behaviour

Delph has covered himself in a bucket load of shit from which he will never recover

What on earth are you blathering on about John?  If everybody venting spleen against Delph for being a lying, treacherous toe rag is covering up their own personal disappointments then I'd expect mass suicides in the Birmingham region any time soon.

I'm also not ecstatic about Micah Richards part in this as well.

Agreed. See other thread: http://www.heroesandvillains.info/forumv3/index.php?topic=54295.375

....and I respect yours but I honestly think most of us are firmly in 'she was a slag anyway' territory. It makes it easier if you can find a bit more hate. That's OK too!

john e I speak for the whole humanity in hating him ;) I bet you true Mancity fans don't much like him either! No proper football fan likes a lying toad of a wanker who professes shit out of his mouth.

Delph posted a photo of him in City colours with the title "God is Good" on instagram.

He's getting torn apart in the comments.

What has an imaginary character got to do with telling lies and following the dirty money trail?

Rather childishly, I've reported the photo to Instagram for abuse.

Patronising shit as well ''the hardest decision I've had to make''. Yeah well what other decisions has he had? Leave a 1st Division club for a massive pay rise in the Premier League? None of his words carry any weight whatsoever.
