Has the seemingly collapsed takover influenced this?

Like many before him Fabian Delph has used Aston Villa.  Doubtless there will be others seeking to emulate Unsworth, Hodge, Downing, Stas, Curcic, Ireland, Jenas and all the rest who have taken from us without any consideration of obligation to the club.   What now has to happen is that those who run the club must become massively less naive and put the club and the well being of the club at the top of the agenda.   We have to become more hard nosed and demanding in our contract relationships with players.   In addition we have to bear grudges towards the other clubs who turn us over,   What comes around goes around and Man City, once the court jesters of football have become a contagion and must be treated as such.   If ever the opportunity arises to do Man City a bad turn we should grab it with both hands.   They have plundered us to get their paperwork in order.   They have done the impossible and made me want to see Manchester United dominate them.

How can you blame the club?

We got £8m for a player who could have left for nothing. How can the club make a player sign a new contract if he doesnt want to. Players have all the power.

As for doing Man City over, dream on. Their financial clout means they cant be beaten. Sad, but true

I think we are in big big trouble. We've lost our 2 standout players, we have a very inexperienced manager supported by Ray bloody Wilkins, we have no captain, no real leaders at the club still.
3 weeks til the season starts is it ? So much to do. Fucking hell.

"Pretty sure we can just keep our fingers crossed that there are at least a few teams shitter than us" ....Randolph Lerner quote (allegedly)

Yes my comment about Jenas was harsh but we do have a track record for being  a free nursing home for players with long term injuries, Delaney and Dunne to name but two.

No, let's not make excuses for him. Money has made the decision for him. Getting a lot more money and not playing for a crap team. Not Benteke leaving, not some mystery bidders not making an offer. Moolah, spondoolics, Wonga, bills, nuggets, lucre, whatever you want to call it. He's just your typical lying, money obsessed footballer.

I am not blaming the club.   They have been decent and fair and honourable in their dealings in a world of freeloaders and snake oil salesmen.  If we are not to have more Delph debacles we have to start playing by the same ruthless standards of self interest as all the others.

I am sick to f**king death of these clowns using Villa as a stepping stone for more money. Downing was up there with Hodge but this tops even that...and he was our captain. At least the club seems to be finally showing some balls with that release but now its time to start acting like the Aston Villa of old. Nail the next one in line to f**k us over - Benteke - and either get him to stay or show him the door...quickly.You want to join that shower of scouse shite? Then NEVER darken these doors again. Sherwood seems to be the perfect guy at the perfect time...clear out the deadwood and mercenaries who have laughingly wore our colours for the last five years and g et your own guys in...and Lerner, if you are staying, get the chequebook out and go to f**king work!! Fabian Delph can do better than Villa? F**k him. Cnut.

The Man City website is probably the most loathsomely smug thing I've seen in a while. 'The England and former Aston Villa skipper spoke shortly after officially becoming City’s new No.18, and he says he intends to make the most of the chance he’s been given.' Oh how gracious of Big Club (#bigclub) Manchester City, to deign to pluck the simple country boy from provincial Aston Villa and give him the chance - imagine! - at such a wondrous club as this oil-and-jihad fuelled nouveau riche monstrosity.

I do not like them.
Yep and they fund ISIS to stay out of Abu Dhabi.
Cock ends

And who don't just throw political dissenters in jail, but throw their attorneys in after them for good measure. No, I know lots of footbal clubs have loathsome and dodgy owners, but City's are among the world's worst people.

That Gary Shaw was a right freeloader. And Petrov. And Kozak. And Gary Gardner. And so on. That so on was a right prospect!

They could have offered him a contract a lot earlier, then he would probably have signed it without the clause.

Since January though, they've not really done anything other from make the best of a bad situation.

The £8m is better than nothing and if he left last week I would have defended him.   But now I just think he is a twunt.

“I spoke with Joe Hart when I was with him for England and he was always been telling me how the Club has come on and what City are trying to achieve - and Micah Richards told me that as far as he is concerned, this is the best club in the world and he had the time of his life here."

What a tosser

Hopefully the Sporting Director can be a lot more proactive in getting contracts sorted out.

Delph.
Benteke.
The cricket.

Kenneth Williams' last entry in his diary pretty much sums it up. What's the bloody point?
