The media are ripping into him.

He will be remembered for the u turns and nothing else. His football isnt good enough to be remembered

Far worse than Sterling. At least that overrated turd didnt shy away from wanting to leave

What are they saying?

Micky Quinn really laid into him on talkshite earlier.  Said he felt sorry for us (bet that hurt him) and that Delph is a snake.

It was never a U turn, he was just haggling his wages up over the last week.
Lying wanker

He's signed for the same amount of money he was offered last wee. He's still a very rude word though.
Ha, Well if you believe that line

Fuck him. We'll move on and be fine.

I look at our squad now and think we're in big trouble without major reinforcements.  With the ****** and benteke gone we've got am extremely weak squad

Like many before him Fabian Delph has used Aston Villa.  Doubtless there will be others seeking to emulate Unsworth, Hodge, Downing, Stas, Curcic, Ireland, Jenas and all the rest who have taken from us without any consideration of obligation to the club.   What now has to happen is that those who run the club must become massively less naive and put the club and the well being of the club at the top of the agenda.   We have to become more hard nosed and demanding in our contract relationships with players.   In addition we have to bear grudges towards the other clubs who turn us over,   What comes around goes around and Man City, once the court jesters of football have become a contagion and must be treated as such.   If ever the opportunity arises to do Man City a bad turn we should grab it with both hands.   They have plundered us to get their paperwork in order.   They have done the impossible and made me want to see Manchester United dominate them.

It doesn't make any difference either way, and he's dead to me now anyway, but I can't help thinking that the media reaction to his u-turn last week might have prompted this. Its almost as if you are not allowed to be independently minded - if a 'bigger' club comes in for you, then you are obliged to up sticks and leave. He was almost unanimously declared as being a 'bottler' for not going. Another reason to hate modern football.

I agree with this.  But today, he is still a twat.

Just as well we have 6 weeks to do something about it.

Bit harsh to list Jenas there. He blew his Achilles and his loan ended in that time, not really his fault

I think we are in big big trouble. We've lost our 2 standout players, we have a very inexperienced manager supported by Ray bloody Wilkins, we have no captain, no real leaders at the club still.
3 weeks til the season starts is it ? So much to do. Fucking hell.

Absolutely. Sounds like we've already got a few players we're looking at and we've got time to bring them in.

On a more positive note, I've missed having a good old boo at a player. Boooooooooooooo!

The Man City website is probably the most loathsomely smug thing I've seen in a while. 'The England and former Aston Villa skipper spoke shortly after officially becoming City’s new No.18, and he says he intends to make the most of the chance he’s been given.' Oh how gracious of Big Club (#bigclub) Manchester City, to deign to pluck the simple country boy from provincial Aston Villa and give him the chance - imagine! - at such a wondrous club as this oil-and-jihad fuelled nouveau riche monstrosity.

I do not like them.

I agree that we need a lot of work, but listing Wilkins as a problem seems strange. A well respected assistant manager who should offer plenty.
