Only the signing of Adebayor can put a smile back on our faces after this

That might just be the saddest Villa post I ever saw.....really? Dude is a mercenary...
I think he was joking

I think my sarcasm radar is malfunctioning after this news :) my bad

I sincerely hope that TS is given the 40m quid to spend. And that he spends it wisely.

I think there are sell on clauses for both deals aren't there? So wouldn't be £40m

I say again, it stems from him just changing his mind after weeks of agonising.

I suppose I will be alone in hating him less for his statements of loyalty.  I think he meant them, he must have done really - otherwise you risk looking as stupid as he does today.  I think he was genuinely torn and wanted to do the right thing by us, but ultimately has decided it's a short career and he only gets one crack at it.  All the statements tell me that here is a bloke who didn't jump the first time money was waved in front of him, he had doubts, he felt the pull of 'loyalty'. It can't be easy having your next career decision attached to so much emotion from so many thousands of people.  I think this will have been a very difficult decision for him and I would guess that as and when this is confirmed, we will end up with an open letter or public statement from him to us, which everyone will wipe their arse on.

Oh, spare us the bleeding hearts nonsense! He pledged himself to the club in a statement only last week, when he didn't have to say anything at all. "He felt the pull of 'loyalty'", my arse!

Rubbish, you really think he has just been chuckling along, making statements saying he is staying, then buggering off the next week without some level of agonising?  I doubt he has found the decision easy.  He is leaving, like anyone else.  I think there are bigger twats in the football.  He has just made himself look a bit stupid by indecisiveness I reckon.

Once he made the statement then, as far as i'm concerned, there is absolutely nothing to excuse him leaving this summer. Even if only one person has gone and had 'Delph' printed on the back of their shirt as a result, or renewed a season-ticket, he's duped them and he's a liar.  IF this is true, the club need to come out and condemn him too.

I am sure the club aren't best pleased.  They should send him the bill for the shirt reprints.

That's the first 30 sec of this Man City wages accounted for then.

Hope he doesn't hold back and rips him apart. If JG was here we would be just hearing the start up of a chainsaw

As much as I respect JG, he was never a motivational manager....tearing down a player loved by the dressing room, leaving or not, is NOT a good thing in pre-season.

This is really immature, and I'm sorry about it, but I'm so utterly fed up with football this afternoon that I'd do anything for a little bit of humour. So I apologise but...

I think we need to start a viral campaign now.

Maybe something like this... We take a photo of Delph and draw big willies on it like this:

and label it something like:

#twococks

#delphandawilly

If it's too much, I'll take it off and apologise.
