Nothing on Sky or the Gaurdian..?

Yeah, the fact that we've heard nothing from those ubiquitous 'sky sports sources' does suggest they're slightly more sceptical about this photo/story than all the other news outlets, though it could be a case of once bitten, twice shy I guess. Jim White has just reported that Benteke's release clause has been triggered, surely they would have linked the possible departure of Delph as well?!

I refuse to accept he could genuinely have considered that he had been given an assurance that Benteke was staying when it had been made clear that Benteke wanted to leave, that there was a release clause that would allow this, and that there were clubs after him. If he comes out with that line to justify changing his mind (if he has) then he's either a total liar or really really thick.

And here I am worrying myself sick about Amavi not taking a medical and then a casual glance at Delph's thread seems to suggest that he is taking it for him...at the wrong club!.

Obviously Tom Fox needs to issue a statement with immense haste. It is that serious.

I think it's him. The story is too strong not to be true. And it's not like the last story was wrong. He just changed his mind at the last minute.

That clearly is not Sterling in the picture. Delph really has moved all pics of his family off his instagram account. The exif data on that photograph time stamps it as 10.37 this morning (not conclusive proof in itself, but even so...), and it is getting reported in far too many sources now.

Last week when he said he wanted to leave, i was more annoyed at the club than I was at him, as it looked like an agreement they'd made when he signed the new contract.

Now I'm way more annoyed at Delph. Those quotes last week ..... jesus fucking christ.

And what knock on effect will it have in attracting new players if we lose our two best players in the space of a couple of days?

A week ago Fabian Delph said he was not leaving Aston Villa to join Manchester City, but could the move be back on?

There is a picture doing the rounds on social media apparently of Delph going for a medical and Manchester Evening News reporter James Robson has just tweeted: "Confirmed City move for Delph is back on".

We will keep you updated with this story when we hear more, but here's what Delph said last week: "I'm not leaving. I'm staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the Premier League season."
