This has obviously been on the cards for a few days and leak coincides with the signing of his replacement. As soon as a striker comes in expect Benteke to be gone.

At least we're doing it the right way around, I suppose.

The club actively participated in the supporters being totally misled. This is a very serious breach of trust by the club in my opinion. I am angrier with them than I am with the player.

Really surprised after all the hoo ha when he signed a new contract.

I wonder what is really going on at Villa - shambles doesn't even begin to cover the last few years. And no doubt the next couple. It feels like the club has become dysfunctional.

If he had left on his free, I'd have been gutted, but could of understood.
Now, with all the patter he gave, and how much he loved the villa, he can suck my bell the fuck tart.
I for one hope his career goes to shit

I bear him no ill will. He could've walked out for nothing if he was just a mercenary. Always gave his all for the club. I can't blame him for having his head turned at the chance of winning trophies and playing in the best club competition in the World after putting up with years of mediocrity at Villa.

People are slagging him off for his statement when he signed. What was he supposed to say? I don't doubt for a second he had genuine affection for the club unlike rats like Downing.

I wish him well, except when he plays us.

Signing a new contract also gave him security if he'd have got s serious long term injury in March.

I really hate modern football.

The more I think about this instead of getting more and more fucked off which is the easy road, I'm just as happy to blow this up. We finished 17th with these muppets so you know what; Delph has gone, Vlaar pretty much gone, and if Benteke really wants out then his cock agent needs to get the fee met. After that get in players that will give us a completely different look and go at this with more dedicated players that will be committed to the club for this season.

Delph isn't irreplaceable. He's a far better athlete than he is a footballer to be honest. I don't think he's top 6 standard. He won't get into Man City's side and his England place will be under threat. Will it bother him when he's raking in over 100k a week? Probably not. I thought he was different but he's just like all the other wankers.
