Oh, and Lambert should sign Delph up to a new contract and build the new Aston Villa around him, because he's superb.

Agreed

I have no doubt that he'll be a future captain of Aston Villa. He's mature beyond his years, becoming that midfield general we've all been crying out for, and now adding a few goals. You put two or three very good players around him in key areas and he will continue to flourish. Like Vlaar when he is asked too do much he can't do it. It's only natural and his own game suffers. Lambert's task is now putting players into the side help players like Vlaar, Benteke, Delph etc improve and concentrate on their own game and improve in their own right.

With Guzan vlaar Delph and benteke we've finally got the good spine that we've lacked for a while

Need to keep hold of them and add some creativity in and around them now

I think Hodgson's already got his 23 sorted. The only way Delph would be in it is if there's a new kind of virus that debilitates average midfielders that play in red.

Four central midfielders in the squad are likely to be Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick and Wilshere if he's fit.  My issue with that selection is that there is no athleticism or energy, especially if Wilshere is injured.  Delph would offer that, but I just can't see him being given an opportunity.

He's slight of build, but by god the lad has a superb engine and will run and run all day long. And now he's starting to really believe in himself. When we lost Stan, we had no midfielders able to turn away from an opponent with a bit of skill, but Fabian can do it with ease and it really helps when the team's trying to construct an attacking platform. He'll be an ever-present for us for some time to come.

Fabian is a fantastic box to box midfielder, probably the best of the Premier League. The only thing that he missed was confidence with  the goal, the killer instinct, but after his superb display yesterday I hope that he will score again and again. He has all the qualities to be another Vieira.

I don't want him in the England squad, it ruins players, keep him for the Villa only!

He certainly is blossoming this season, been my player of the season!

Jordan Henderson would offer than energy. And he has had a fantastic season.

I also think Milner would also get Roy's selection over Delph. Maybe another 2 seasons at this standard and Delph could make the Euros 2016.

If Cleverley can get near the squad then I'm going to make sure my phone is fully charged.

He won't go. He knows he's been found out.

Delph & Lambert have said previously that things will be sorted out in the summer. Delph has also said that he owes Villa / Lerner for sticking with him during his injuries. I would be hugely disappointed in Delph if he then turned around & left. I think he has more class than that. Plus the guy is going to get better.

He's not ready for the England squad yet, but his performances are improving and he seems to be adding the consistency.

In the current context of the England squad he's plenty ready.

There's five or six who are far ahead of him, IMO.
