We were also about 30 seconds away from doing the double over them. I think they're a great side to watch in fairness though.

Me too, I really like their success. All done in the right way. I think we're a great side to watch when we're in our stride as well, though.

Hopefully we can eradicate some if not all, the individual errors we made last season.  However, work on the training ground on defending corners, free kicks etc should also, hopefully, achieve some results.  Plus we do have four centre backs this season which means that anyone carrying a knock can be rested.

Back to Tony Moon - 1st time i have seen him this season and was not overly impressed.

Especially when he was fouled, went down like he had broken his leg, got the player booked then got up and sprinted the length of the pitch

Somethink that i hated players like Trevor Francis for doing all my life - hope that is knocked out of him soon

He inevitably has strengths and weaknesses. He's come from the Spanish league where the acting thing is probably more practised/accepted. He's a fighter and loves to win his tackles, but i think he is a bit prone to struggling when the winger attacks him head on/cuts inside. It should be interesting to see him against Walcott! Delph/Sylla cutting out the supply will be needed or I can see Walcott taking him to the cleaners.
He also seems to have bought into the team big-time. Watch him when we score - he loves it! The support for him in the friendlies has been mentioned several times and he loves the Tony Moon thing. I hope he can work on and improve his defensive nous as I think he could be great for us long term.
Also: excellent beard! ;-)

I agree with you there Russell. Some of the individual errors last season were quite unbelievable. However, once again that comes from prioritising attacking over defending, this time in the transfer market. .

Not really too sure about that.

We look a soft touch at corners - the kind of errors we see in situations like that are usually individual errors of a level you wouldn't expect to see from players like those.

Vlaar, for example, is not an expensive, top defender, but he makes errors and shows weaknesses of a type you wouldn't expect to see from a Dutch international.

Shine on shine on Tony Moon#!

Great debut game. Thought he was all round excellent today. Not the easiest of debut against quality opposition.

Sometimes a player needs a break, a bit of luck to kickstart their career.  Strangely his bit of luck might be his nick-name.

That instantly got him cult status > which meant the fans sang his name > which gave him confidence play without fear >  cement his place in the 1st team > scores on league debut > more confidence.

Luna means moon in Spanish and Italian, so we can say that we are over the moon today

I don't care about the man's politics but he was claiming Villa fan status before today. So like everyone else let Cameron enjoy himself. In fact I hope Risso and Nash are enjoying today and hopefully how we are evolving too.

Very impressed by him today , handled Walcott pretty well and showed a coolness to put away the third goal when many defenders in similar situation may have panicked and missed.

Wasn't Sir William Dugdale Cameron's uncle? The guy's got every right to claim genuine Villa fandom. Much as he is a political bastard.
