Bloody strange signing. There's next to nothing on his previous that stands out. Nothing. Lambert and his scouts have obviously identified something about him that makes him interesting. The fact he's an attacking full back obviously ticks the box for them but I do hope he can also defend.

I'm fascinated by this deal as it makes such little sense. Is he to replace Joe Bennett, is he Bennett's cover, will he play him as a wing back and go three across the back, I really don't know. It would be strange if Lambert has bought him in to replace Bennett. Competition? Most definitely. Maybe he's prepared to give Bennett one last go and give Luna time to settle in.

Anyway, welcome and do us proud, Antonio. Am I right in thinking he's our first 'Antonio'?

Could it be that PL might be considering playing Bennett in midfield? Some of you on here reckon he'd be quite good as a left-sided midfielder.  I can't comment as I haven't been at a match to see him live yet.

I doubt it.

I like Bennett. Be interesting to see if Luna eclipses him as a left-back.

He's physically too weak as a left back let alone battling in midfield. I can still see him now being muscled off the ball by various Bradford players...

Solid and highly rated by my mates in Spain - likes to attack - and could probably do with learning a bit about defensive positioning when we haven't got the ball.

Oh - we've signed the Spanish Joe Bennett.

This should be good.

Bennett cost 4m right?

This lad has played 11 more top flight games than him and also played for Spain at various age groups and probably has cost half of the fee above.

Shows you what a drag it is signing British players even from the lower leagues now. Interesting PL is staying clear of the british market so far this summer.

It has become pretty clear Lambert regards full backs as a big part of his attack and has no interest in defensive only full backs. Hence the clear out of some crap full backs but also some decent ones (Lijah) who are not attack minded.

So yeah, expect us to play that open style again next season. Goals ahoy at both ends! :)

I could put up with numerous 4-2 victories next year. Just about.

07/08 and 08/09 worked out alright for the most part.

I dont know why but I cant get too interested in this deal. Anyone else feel the same way?

I didn't get carried away with Matt Lowton either to be honest.
