Good, entertaining game with a fair result at the end of it.

Glad this dog of a season is over with. The last couple of months were promising, but before that was dire in the extreme.

Big clearout coming up this summer I imagine.

Bish
The obvious candidates for that speak for themselves, but its additions we need as much as any clear out.

I am a hell of alot more optimistic about our future than I was 12 months ago.

This.

We now have young players with premiership experience to build upon.

Still a lot of work required, but laying some solid foundations for the future.

Great to see Stan come out at the end with Lambert.

There were more flares today than at a 70's disco. I like the proper flares, but those smoke bombs dont half smell.

It had a real end of season feel about it; we always score and we always concede.

There were loads of Villa fans in the home ends, so much so that around 60-70 were ewcorted into the away end from the West Stand. A bit of argy bargy in the East. So reducing our allocation to stop trouble did the opposite. You've got to love the police.

Kinda reminds me of the last day in 2008: West Ham 2 Villa 2...Mellberg farewell t-shirts. Nice goals from Ash Young and Gareth Barry, Dean Ashton equalises in the last minute.

Thats it for another year, I have watched all season on a dodgy stream but if any Villa fan subscribes to Sky next season hang your heads in shame, spunked themselves over Fergie, Beckham, Carragher and even played 20 games in 20 years the Newcastle goalie Harper about retiring and did not once repeat did not once mention Petrov, they are a fucking disgrace

I'll subscribe to what I want thanks.

Petrov was given the send of he deserved by the people who meant something to him. Don't need sky for that.

Not quite sure what you're trying to achieve by getting all wound up about something like that. Be glad he's alive and doing well. Be proud our team and fans have supported him in the way they have and keep the memory you have of waving and cheering him as he circled the pitch last week.

Jeff Stelling mentioned that one of the nice touches of the day was seeing Stan on the Villa bench with the coaching staff.

I can understand his anger at the Sky top 4 bias although I won't be hanging my head in shame for subscribing as its the only way I can watch more than 4 Villa games a season as I live away from Brum (currently in a USA airport with an 8 hour delay for fucks sake).

I hate Beckham

Now that's over we can look forward to the coming and goings in the summer transfer window we need some quality players brought in then we can push on next season we don't want another relegation battle like this season.

Typical end of season nothing to play for fare.  However well done to the never ending procession of bellends who come to our last away of the season, can't hold their drink and behave like a bunch of neanderthal morons.  Anyway well done to Villa for conceding in the 19th minute applause rather than scoring and a great big farewell to Stan Petrov.  See you all in August when hopefully we've strengthened and can start to move up the table.
