Glad we didn't lose. Thank god it's all over. Now we need Lambert and Lerner to sort out the defence and give us a team that isn't in a perennial relegation battle.

We won't struggle next season brother, just sit back and enjoy it.

if we had won we would have gone up to 13th
Yeah, and if we`d learnt what a clean sheet means, we`d have been a lot higher than that.

Good, entertaining game with a fair result at the end of it.

Glad this dog of a season is over with. The last couple of months were promising, but before that was dire in the extreme.

Big clearout coming up this summer I imagine.

What happened to the match thread - left after a while and hoped to follow what I had missed?  Was it 2-2 then?

We're certainly not boring going forward, but next ason I want us to be boring in defence and have a few 0's next to the opposition name. It's been great at times, bizarre at times and dreadful at times. But there are very good times ahead I'm convinced of that. Here's to a great summer, some duds departing and good players coming in. Best wishes everyone.

Finished 15th above to two North East clubs.

Glad we didn't lose and looking forward to next season already but we need to strengthen the defence as priority.
Well done D Bent for scoring in your final game for us.

We were pretty poor for a lot of the game today.
We missed Benteke, not just for his goal threat but for his all round play and fantastic ability to hold the ball up and bring others into the game. He really is the focal point of this team.
I'm looking forward to a big clear out of those who are obviously not good enough for us to progress.
I trust Lambert to spend wisely.

A disappointing performance but credit to Wigan who kept at it and looked the stronger team.

We need at least one brilliant central defender as neither Vlaar or Baker dominate central defence.

At least we didn't lose but after all the games Wigan have played recently, we realy should have punished them.

For the third last day if the season in a row, thank fuck that's over. Now Wigan are gone, it's not unlikely everyone will start pointing out our perennial struggles and late season escapes.

It's obvious to every fan where our deficencies lie, so if Lambert takes action i think we'll be comfortable next season. If he keeps faith in what we have, this time next year we may be reminiscing about today.

Thought it would be 2-2, both teams can score but are comical in defence.

We know the areas that need strengthening so hopefully a few defenders and midfielders signed this summer (cue Lambert being linked with a hundred strikers when Bent leaves).

Baker is not shit.

Maybe so, but he's not good enough for where we want to be.

They looked fresher than us by the end. Weimann has been poor, save for Sunderland, for a while and we need genuine options to take him, Gabby and Benteke out.

I think Baker and Clark should be 3rd choice with a centre half coming in, but I think if one does it will be from abroad. Maybe a german as a parting gift from Henke, or maybe Dunne will prove his fitness over the summer.
