Not bad for meaningless, last-day fare. Great to see Bent score, and what a cracker from Vlaar. Very happy to see Lambert run to the fans at the end. And nobody sings "We'll meet again" like Villa fans. Bring on next season.

Summed up our season really, absolutely atrocious defending. However we survived thank goodness, and I just hope that the defence is addressed in the summer as it badly needs to be.

Entertaining. Lots of work to do for next season though. Weimann looked poor (oddly).

Vlaar great goal but dodgy in the back. Bent, anonymous after 20 mins.

Bennett or Delph prolly my MOM.

I think it highlighted good and bad of our side, and showed why a couple of midfielders pushing Delph and Westwood, a forward etc. Dawkins, not really good enough etc.

Draw...  get on with planning for next season.

Bent does not really help the forward line in the Benteke role, as nice as it was to see him score.

Worse teams than Wigan have survived.

Not a bad game. Open, some nice footy from both teams. I thought that we lost a lot of territory when Dawkins came on. He wasn't brilliant, and we missed Syllas presence.
Dunno how Wiemann lasted the game. He was total bobbins today. He's really needed a rest in the last few weeks to be honest.
Dawkins I think has played his last game now. Can't see Lambo wanting to make the move permanent. Not good enough. Bowery was ineffective when he came on. Again, we need to see him playing up front, not out wide.
Bent showed what he's good at, but also just why he cannot play for our side under Lambert. Barely touched it after 5 minutes. Cracking goal. A nice send off, but he's gone now.

Defensively dire as normal. We need 2 decent centre backs now and a strong left back to push Bennett, or to take his place. I don't rate Vlaar defensively. The odd cracking goal aside, he's not nearly as dominating at the back as we need. We need an organiser in there to keep the young lads from dropping so many clangers and falling asleep.

Baker is shit. Sorry, but it's the truth. He's not good enough.

Long, hard season. Thank christ it's over. Plenty of promise. Plenty of nice football has been played this year. We just need to sort the defence out.

I think it's quite clear now too, that Lambert probably doesn't rate most of the senior players he inherited when he got here. Ireland, Hutts, Given, Holman (has fallen out of favour now), Bent and possibly Bannan may move on in the next couple of windows. I also think Charlie Zog might have played his last game for us. I think Lamberts given him chances and hasn't seen enough. That, I would agree with.

Feel a little sorry for Wigan. They have some good players, play some nice stuff. They deserved to stay up more so than a few other clubs, particularly the North East mob and Stoke. I think we're crying out for a Maloney type player. Nice touches, good vision. Always looking to make something happen and consistently good set piece delivery.

I think Westy is great but his set pieces need to improve dramatically. We have no one who consistently delivers good free kicks and corners. Haven't had since Barry and Young.

Yes we badly need midfield competition and wide competition as well as the defensive issues.

Glad we didn't lose. Thank god it's all over. Now we need Lambert and Lerner to sort out the defence and give us a team that isn't in a perennial relegation battle.
